When and where did this happen. Was it at the revival, hospital. I believe people can be raised from the dead, But only with proof from a real doctor who pronounced the child or person dead first.

The only still born baby who is being reported as ‘coming back form the dead’ in various medical journals and international stories was born in Mumbai India.

If a verified still born baby makes a God only knows recovery it does make the international press. Let me know when this one does because this is so rare it is worthy and does make international news.

Catlin that is what bothers me. None of the so called back from the dead have made national news, and to me that would be something I know would make it

Did anyone note that? It JUST happened. Last time anyone in my family ended up in a medical journal, it took a couple of years (and that’s happened twice).

But let’s get to the point. What doctor certified that the people Jesus raised were really dead? How about the apostles? (Sure, Luke was a doc… but he wasn’t there for all of them.)

I can see, if someone stopped breathing five minutes ago and they get hands laid on them and prayer, that perhaps they weren’t dead yet. But if someone hasn’t taken a breath in a full day… that would be a bit of a stretch to say that they were somehow still alive…

And why is it rare, Caitlin, for this to happen? Jesus told us to do it. We just don’t bother to hop outside our personal pride to go and DO. That’s the problem - an utter lack of desperation for God, and for God to MOVE.

I’d laugh, but it would be rude, and it’s really not funny…

My original post regarding the baby being raised from the dead was on 3 July. The only response was one from Missy saying hello, who commented that post because it was probably the first one when she showed up….

Nobody seems to have had a problem with the testimony, until I posted that it was connected to Lakeland…

OK, that does warrant a smirk, if not a laugh…

Kathi, we must be careful on what we preceive without documented proof. I know we had a lady healed at our church and she brought documents from her doctor stating it has happened to her and he was amazed. when I pray for someone for healing I tell them to go to their doctor. Evangelist Terrance Rose does the same and will not proclaim a complete healing without the proof and today we must do that also. Its not knocking anyone on this, I don’t care who the person is. Because of so many out their that are fakes and claiming so much, its in the best interest of the Lord to have the documented proof.

Rev, I agree - but only to a point. Some miracles should get medical verification. For example, a person claiming to be cured of diabetes or high blood pressure. That sort of thing is not visible and shouldn’t be “confirmed” by someone “feeling cured”.

However, if a person has not taken a breath in hours (and there’s no extenuating circumstance such as submersion in ice cold water), it’s fair to assume they’re dead. If after hours and hours they begin to breath again, it’s fair to assume they’re alive.

If a person (such as myself) has a lifelong history of joint dislocation and such can be graphically demonstrated (I used to be able to bend my fingers backwards and put my feet behind my neck at the expense of hips and knees), and suddenly joints will not dislocate even under force… kinda hard to fake that.

Besides that - just thought of this - I can’t think of one single shred of biblical precedent for getting medical documentation. Why is the Bible silent on such an important issue? (Or, perhaps as you’ve alluded to in past comments that it’s sin to do unbiblical things, you’re promoting sinful behavior?)

I think I’ll go step on my fingers now lest I say more…

I believe Kathi there were times that Jesus told those healed to go to the Priest and present themselves as the Priest knew the people of the day, such a the lame man, the blind man. This way they would know there was a healing. I was healed from heart problem and diabetes and have the doctors to relate it to my wife and family.

Why Rev… did you just say that Jesus said that the CHURCH should judge, and this way they would know there was a healing?

And why is it rare, Caitlin, for this to happen?

Why would anyone who had died and who had seen God want to come back to this fallen old world?

Cat, don’t you think “want” is a trivial word?

The simple answer: For God’s glory and His alone.

The less simple answer: Given that God IS the author over life and death, if I was to die and be in His presence and He said to me, “Kathi, I’ve called someone to pray over your body that you be raised from the dead, and I’m sending you back” I don’t think I’d be overjoyed at leaving His side… but I would do anything anything anything for Him, and so “want” doesn’t factor in. (and to be thorough in my answer, if I get there and God doesn’t want to send me back here, then a thousand people of faith could pray over my body and nothing will happen.)

Kathi, I did not say Church judge. Jesus told them to go show themselves to the Priest. If I was legally blind and lame and could walk, the physical apperance would be there. No man can look at a person and see if his heart has been healed. or liver restored or kidneys. These were outward transformations of healing visible to the eyes of the Priest. When Smith Wigglesworth prayed his wife back from the dead she said, why did you bring me back from Heaven, don’t do it again. I was in the presence of the Lord.

Indeed - Jesus said to go and show themselves to the PRIEST. Not “go and show yourselves to the doctor”.

When SW prayed his wife back from the dead, who’s will was at work? His? His wife’s? or God’s? Either praying someone back is magick, or it’s God’s sovereign will… He had the right to send her back, whether she wanted to come or not.
