Grace

Journey. It seems the best way to describe life. Journey in the sense of movement not destination. One day it feels light and inconsequential. On another the pace slows to a crawl where your knees rub raw on the gravel. And those special moments when the sky seems to part and everything looks clear and you marvel at the opportunity to breathe. Always there are drops of grace. Most often subtle. Usually simple. But unmistakably divine. They come when you are paying attention. They are still there when you are not. And they have the power to change your attitude, your perspective, your hope.

I want to be a grace hog. I don't want to miss out on any special gift God leaves for me along the path. I want to hear Him in the "just called to say 'hi'" voice of a dear friend. I want to receive Him through the cashier at Ace Hardware who rang up my $20 worth of items and pulled out a $10 off coupon from under the counter just because she "felt like being nice." I want to see Him as I stare at the walls around me that not only hold meaningful pictures but are keeping me dry from the thunderstorm that rages outside. Grace. It is everywhere. It comes with every step. It will be the journey if we pay attention enough to receive it.
