WHEW! Sometimes I could just kick myself. I had this post almost finished and accidentally closed the browser and lost it all!! So, here goes again.

Miss Kathleen, from The Open Widow, tagged me with this one and I'm glad to participate.

Here are the rules:
Each player starts with eight (8) random facts/habits about themselves.
Write a blog post about your own eight (8) random things.
Post these rules.
At the end of your blog you need to tag eight (8) people and post their names.
Don’t forget to leave them a comment and tell them they’re tagged.

1. I love the Lord and have been a Christian for about 25 years.

2. This should come as no surprise...I LOVE taking pictures. Just check some out on flickr. My Dad gave me a camera when I was about eight and I've been taking pictures since then.

3. When I was a baby, I used to suck my thumb~the left one.

4. When I was in early elementary school, I got in a fight with one of the boys in my class.

Approximately how many hours per week do you spend surfing the ‘net? I'm going to plead the 5th Amendment on this one!!

Meme ~ Why I Blog

Since yesterday was a day I would just as soon forget about, I did forget about a tag. Terri from In His Hands tagged me with the meme Five Reasons Why I Blog. Actually, I had seen this at another friend's blog so I had a little time to think about it even though I didn't know I would be tagged.

The first and foremost reason is to share my faith. If God would lead someone here, I'd want that person to know what He has done in my life. As has been said, I'm not perfect, just forgiven. I have day-to-day struggles (see below) just like everyone else and God doesn't always deliver me out of my struggles but helps me through them. As Paul said in Galations 2:20, 'I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.'
I have met so many very special people through blogging and am enjoying keeping up with what's going on in their lives. Although not many people read my blog, I am encouraged by the comments people leave.
I know that with these friends, I can ask for prayer and they will respond. If you don't believe me, check out BooMama and see what happened! Two hundred seventy-two (that's 272) comments from people saying they would pray and give. Over $8,000 was raised to help defray medical expenses.

It also gives me an opportunity to share my love of photography. For that you'll have to go visit My Photo Blog to see if I'm any good!
Finally, blogging has been stretching my brain! I no longer work out of the home and although I read, do counted cross-stitch, knit and crochet, blogging opens up new areas of thinking.
So, there you have it. I'm not sure who all has done this, so I will leave the tag open. If you'd like to participate, considered yourself tagged and go with it. [image]

Thankful Thursday

Many years ago when I first became a Christian, a very dear friend told me that she was thankful she could go to the bathroom. This week I want to share my thanks for my five senses...and several other things.

Taste: Psm. 34:8 - "O taste and see that the LORD is good;
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!" God has provided a bounty of food for us to taste.

Sight: 2 Cor. 5:7 - "for we walk by faith, not by sight--"
and Matt. 5:8 - "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" and by the blood of Jesus, my Lord and Savior, I am made pure in heart! Although I wear glasses, I so thankful for my eyes.

Smell: Gen. 27:27 - in reference to Jacob stealing Esau's blessing, Isaac says - "...is like the smell of a field which the LORD has blessed;" With Spring approaching, we'll soon be able to smell God's creations

Hear: Matt. 10:27 - "What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops." Whispered in your ear...I can hear God's whisper!!! And I can hear our granddaughter when she's unhappy.
John 8:47 - "He who is of God hears the words of God..."

Feel/Touch: Mark 10:13 - "And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them;"
1 John 5:18 (Amplified) - "We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him [Christ's divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him]." WOW! To hold my husband tight and feel his arms around me is such a huge blessing!

I'm also thankful for BibleGateway for offering a Bible reference toolbar I could install on my browser. Although I have several Bibles on my desk, it's so easy just to go up to the toolbar and type in a word or scripture reference, and ... there it is!

Again, I'm thankful to Christine for my new blog look.

Have a blessed day!

Friday's Feast #129

Appetizer
What was one of the fashion fads when you were a teenager? That was a loooooong time ago. I would say that it was kilts. Back then (waaaaaay back then) girls did NOT wear pants to school.

Name one thing you think people assume about you when they first meet you. Not bragging, but they probably think I'm nice ~ and I am ~ most of the time.

Salad
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how hard do you work? If it's something I'm passionate about, I would have to say 10.

Main Course
If you were given a free 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl to sell anything you currently own, what would you advertise? My house.

Dessert
Fill in the blank: I love to cuddle when it is cold.

Blast from the past

I've been tagged! Iris from Sting My Heart tagged me with this meme. You may have seen it before, but you haven't seen it with my "answers." The object is to go through all your posts and pick out one in each category: Funny, Serious, Ugly (or a Rant) and About Me.

The one I picked for Funny was one I borrowed from a friend because I thought it so well described what it's like getting older. My Serious post was back in July. Although there were others I could have chosen, this is a very serious matter to me.

As for my Rant, I believe several people would have to agree with this one. It's not directed at any one person, but at the "system" which we all must live under.

About Me. Well, I'm taking a little different approach for this one. This post is about me but it's not the typical 100 Things About Me list (because I've never done one). No this one is better~I think.

I really do appreciate Iris having tagged me. Sooooo, now it's my turn. I'm going to tag Lazy Daisy, Insanity Prevails and Flip Flop Floozie. I know each of these Bloggers personally and if you read this post, you'll discover how we met.
