It looks how I feel.  :-)

Heating Up

22 07 2008

Things at work are temporarily heating up around here.  Our office is moving to a new location the first week of September and I…I am the one who is in charge of said move.

Blogging will be light until then (I say that but, will no doubt, get a creative surge like never before…happens every time!)   In case I don’t, though, don’t worry.  I’m reading.  I’m creating.  I’ll be back…

Summertime

20 07 2008

Blue skies.  Daylilies.  What else can I say?  It’s summer in Kansas City.

Barking Up The Right Tree

17 07 2008

I’ve about exhausted my drive for flower photos and we’re not quite close enough to Autumn for leaf photos so here I am, macro lens in hand, looking for the interesting patterns one can find when one goes barking up the right tree.

Getting Closer

16 07 2008

Getting just the right amount of depth to a macro insect image is a big goal of mine.  I still have a long way to go but I’m getting there - slowly but surely.

Crystal Ball

13 07 2008

I found an action for Photoshop called “Twirling Abstract Art” and I’m having a blast with it.  It takes your not-so-great images of flowers, waterfalls, grass - basically anything - and turns them into these spinning gyrographs of art.

The first image was originally a field of grass; the second one was the surface of the lake this morning.  Now how fun is this I ask you???

Dew Be Dew Be Dew

The world was soaked in dew this morning down at Englewood Lake.

Hosta

12 07 2008

While out at Powell Gardens last weekend I found a beautiful hosta plant tucked away in the heavy forested garden.  This one leaf was so beautiful that I plucked him out of the image and “transplanted” him onto a solid background.

Blacklite Lily

11 07 2008

Sometimes images don’t always go where we want them to.  This one just wouldn’t let me adjust the contrast and colors to the right levels and, in my attempt to rectify the problem, I slid the levels midtone slider in Photoshop all the way to the right.

There!  Take that you silly daylily!
