Goodness, am I tired! That's what happens when you stay up late reading Ted Dekker, I suppose. :)

I absolutely had to share these lyrics..

Which Jesus do you follow?

Which Jesus do you serve?
If Ephesians says to imitate Christ
Then why do you look so much like the world?

Cause my Jesus bled and died
He spent His time with thieves and liars
He loved the poor and accosted the arrogant
So which one do you want to be?

Blessed are the poor in spirit
Or do we pray to be blessed with the wealth of this land
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness
Or do we ache for another taste of this world of shifting sand

Cause my Jesus bled and died for my sins
He spent His time with thieves and sluts and liars
He loved the poor and accosted the rich
So which one do you want to be?

Who is this that you follow
This picture of the American dream
If Jesus was here would you walk right by on the other side or fall down and worship at His holy feet

Pretty blue eyes and curly brown hair and a clear complexion
Is how you see Him as He dies for Your sins
But the Word says He was battered and scarred
Or did you miss that part
Sometimes I doubt we’d recognize Him

Cause my Jesus bled and died
He spent His time with thieves and the least of these
He loved the poor and accosted the comfortable
So which one do you want to be?

Cause my Jesus would never be accepted in my church
The blood and dirt on His feet would stain the carpet
But He reaches for the hurting and despised the proud
I think He’d prefer Beale St. to the stained glass crowd
And I know that He can hear me if I cry out loud

I want to be like my Jesus!
I want to be like my Jesus!

Not a posterchild for American prosperity, but like my Jesus
You see I’m tired of living for success and popularity
I want to be like my Jesus but I’m not sure what that means to be like You Jesus
Cause You said to live like You, love like You but then You died for me
Can I be like You Jesus?
I want to be like my Jesus

;)

Dear Xanga.com,
We've been together for a few years now and it's been great. We've had some good times, and well, mostly good times. But I'm afraid this weblog relationship just isn't working out. At first, it was great to write down the details of my day or sarcastic posts but now I feel like I'm the one who makes all the effort. I write and write and what do you do? Nothing. Don't take this wrong, but you are totally cramping my writing style.
I've also found something else. Word Press. I started a WP blog for the process of Peru and everything. Their blogs made life updates oh so simpler. Plus, it gives me space and is professional looking.
I hope we can still be friends. But nothing more. I'm getting another Word Press blog!
Sincerely, Kelsy

See how the precious children of Jerusalem, worth their weight in fine gold, are now treated like pots of clay made by a common potter.
Lamentations 4:2

After reading this verse, I wondered, "Hm. How much am I worth in gold." So, I did a little research. One ounce of Gold Bullion, aka really, really nice gold, is worth $679! After plugging in a few formulas, I figured that I am worth about $1, 520, 960! That's quite a lot of money! lol

But finding the weight of myself in gold wasn't what attracted me to this verse. This verse is sort of a summary of myself right now ( yes, all $ 1,520,960 of me [image]).   To make a long story short, I devalue myself a *lot*. If I had a dollar every time I thought or said things that basically demeaned my worth, I might very well have the million some dollars that's my weight in gold. I was doing my quiet time and I had a piece of paper stuck randomly in my Bible. Turns out, it was obviously in Lamentations for a reason. It was a little reminder of how much I am worth in God eyes and how I'm treating myself, a daughter of the King, like a boring clay pot of no importance. ( Oh and by the way, I researched and clay is worth $00.031 an ounce.)

So don't let anyone ( including yourself) dare to treat you like you are worthless, unimportant and useless. You are worth your weight in gold! You are important enough for God to ransom men for you, as it says in Isaiah! You are beautiful and you are worth it because He is beautiful and worthy.
