Why we write this blog:
Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. Matthew 7:15 NIV

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 Peter 2:1

How pulpit pimps cost us 700 billion $$$

Okay we’re going out for the long one on this.

New information is in according to Religion News Blog which says that so-called prosperity teaching and word of faith heresy have lured many a people into the current American financial disaster. Many have warned, but greed is a powerful, common lure on both sides of this disaster. Look here, here and here.

While researching a book on black televangelism, says Jonathan Walton, a religion professor at the University of California at Riverside, he realized that Prosperity’s central promise — that God will “make a way†for poor people to enjoy the better things in life — had developed an additional, dangerous expression during the subprime-lending boom. Walton says that this encouraged congregants who got dicey mortgages to believe “God caused the bank to ignore my credit score and blessed me with my first house.†The results, he says, “were disastrous, because they pretty much turned parishioners into prey for greedy brokers.â€

These pied pipers lied, manipulated,  tricked and bamboolzed idol-eyed church folk into believing that “sowing a seed” (money only mind you) would release the blessings of God. Of course that meant that even though your credit was jacked up, you didnt have  sustainable income, you didnt qualify for a loan, Gawd would still work a miracle for you. But you had to sow a seed of faith first. Money only, please.

SIDEBAR: God really does work miracles in all areas of life, so don’t think that’s not true. But God is not a Las Vegas slot machine and not the Georgia lottery. You can’t play him for the fool with your money. Now, back to the story.

These two-bit prophets of spiritual porn are out to rape the church with promises of being rich and “having God’s best”. The scriptures warn of of this, but people today ignore God’s word and live by their fragile emotions instead.

If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:3-10 (our bold)

Most of the people caught up in this mess are now losing those houses and perhaps their sanity, but do you think the pimps are coming to their rescue? Not on your life. Once they get you to sow your bill money or write a check on faith, they are finished with you. They treat people the sheep like washed out prostitutes who just need one last john to give them a fix.

Speaking of fixes the people are not innocent. Greed and desparation to look blessed drove them right into the arms of the pimp. Most are black and of the pentecostal/nondenominational persuasion. In the last several years we have seen an explosion of pimp-run ”economic empowerment (1)” conferences (2) for black church folk. And they were well attended. We saw accelerated deployment into the church an “endtime” notion that God was about to transfer wealth. And people believe it! All it takes is for you to ”sow your seed”, prop up your feet and wait. What does that tell you? Black folk need to turn back to God, repent and get rid of the idols they have set up to lead them. The idols —made with their own hands or money depending on how you catch it— promise the best, but refuse to sustain their fake miracles. Its a ruse right out of satan’s playbook.

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.  Luke 4:5-8

Did you notice Jesus’ response? We should worship and serve God alone. Giving money to the pimps because you think you’re going to manipulate or fasttrack God’s plan of blessing is blasphemous idolatry! Instead of waiting for your blessing check to come in, Jesus said we should be SERVING God. That’s called work.

This brings up another issue which is the economic-driven ”help the poor at any cost” principle of the Democrats (is this why most black folk are Democrats?) birthed under Jimmy Carter. This has never helped poor blacks, only crippled them emotionally and financially as they were kept bolted to the front screen door waiting for the handout to show up in the mail. It was Carter’s Community Reinvestment Act passed in 1977 which ”encouraged depository institutions to help meet the credit needs of the communities in which they operate”. That’s nice talk for predatory lending. The CRA eventually spawned thinking that the government OWED black folk economic empowerment and this was a means to get it. Now, government is having to dump 700 billion dollars into a bottomless pit to fix it.  But we’re in too deep now for 700 billion dollars to help. The main reason? We have set up a golden idol in our nation and its name is mammon. Now, the true God is allowing America (and you greedy church folk, too) to see what mammon will do when you bow down to it.

If the church leads out by repenting and dethroning the pimps, God will give us true pastors.  “Return, faithless people,” declares the LORD, “for I am your husband. I will choose you—one from a town and two from a clan—and bring you to Zion. Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding ( Jeremiah 3:14-15).

Big ticket item for COGIC may cost souls

According to TD Jakes website, he is scheduled to speak at the 101st COGIC convocation. At a reported $50,000 per appearance, he is what you would call a “big ticket item”. Money isnt the issue, COGIC can easily pay Bishop Jakes fifty thousand dollars if it wanted to, but is it worth helping to spread the influence of a man who is in serious dereliction of duty?

Something’s definitely rotten here. Bishop Blake has already made one mega mistake by giving the pulpit over to openly gay cleric Peter Gomes at West Angeles in 2003. He said that he didn’t know.

But with the massive amount of very public information on TD Jakes’ blatant false doctrine, ungodly associations, and highly questionable personal character (Im not even going to link to it all)  what will Bishop Blake’s excuse be this time? Has the convocation selection committee properly vetted its speakers? Is there a vetting process at all? Have they asked Bishop Jakes the hard questions before he mounts the platform in Memphis? Or is this just a tangible sign of what many people see as the beginning of the end for COGIC?

Pastor Harvey Burnett at Dunamis Word blog asks additional questionswhich should be answered openly and succinctly by COGIC officials. But they most likely won’t. The grinding machinery of church business has little concern for honest dissension. There are voices of dissent in COGIC but most seem afraid to acknowledge openly what they feel in their hearts. That’s called “fighting leadership”  one of the top sins in COGIC.

LOUD PRAISE, QUIET INJUSTICE

Many have indeed questioned why the nation’s largest black pentecostal denmonination is so quiet, passive and complicit in its dealings with more and more homosexual clergy peeking out of the closet and more cases of clergy sexual abuse. But I learned something the other day. COGIC bishops are impotent and have very little power to correct moral, doctrinal, legal and sexual misconduct in the ranks of its clergy.

Unlike say, the AME church where a bishop has considerable governing autonomy, COGIC’s rules, and processes of appeal make it almost impossible for someone to face real justice within the organization. This maze of rules and appeals are backed by the influential General Council of Pastors and Elders. A ranking source within the church told GCM Watch that the rules have so many holes and loopholes, its quite possible that a person may never be brought to so-called “church justice”.

He cited several ongoing cases, one of which has been going in for over 10 years and the pastor is still violating the church rules and “direct orders” from his bishop. But he has manipulated the system over and over, thus prolonging any real resolution.

It provided greater perspective as to why nothing was done when parents reported murdered Pastor Ronald Paigein Arkansas to Bishop LT Walker. Walker might as well have been a Chinese citizen. The source said that COGIC bishops are, for practical purposes, ecclesiastical figureheads with no real authority when it comes to serious matters. The sad thing is that the rank and file of COGIC arent aware that their bishops have only minor ecclesiastical authority when pastoral sexual misconduct is reported to them. That’s precisely why Sherman Allen of Fort Worth could do what he is accused of doing while his bishop —who knew of the crime for over 17 years— did little to nothing.

We did just that in 2002 when Bishop Walker and State Secretary Jewel Withers were presented with specific evidence of an ordained elder in their charge who had organized an online group of black homosexual ministers.  But a decade later, Elder Ronald Kimbrew, an elder at Greater Trinity COGIC in Little Rock who founded the group is still on staff at the church. Look for yourself (scroll down).

No, its not just the Methodists and Episcopals who are being outwitted by homosexual clergy. COGIC is just starting its journey to fully accepting homosexual men and women as clergy. Impossible you say?  Just a few years ago, we all though it a fantasy that our country could legalize gay marriage. But its a shocking reality now. Just like in the other churches, it was a private issue whispered about for many years.  But now, with the advent and unassuming ascension of the gay christian movement, those inside denominational walls are actively pursuing a recognized place in leadership.

So that’s why TD will mount COGIC’s platform and preach one of his usual emotionally charged, super-exposited sermons, the people will scream back at him and then “shout”. Its not like anybody would actually challenge him on his false doctrine anyway.

If youre a member of COGIC and this news make you upset and angry go ahead and let it all out…here. Reporting to your superiors will only hit the stained glass celing and possibly cause you a concussion.

Former black gay author/activist pens “new” book

DETROIT, Sept. 10 /Christian Newswire/ — Ken Jackson lived life as a gay man, until God spoke to him and asked, ‘Do you love me?’ three Times God asked, Jackson answered the same each time ‘Yes’, then God spoke, ‘Prove it!’

In Ken Jackson’s new book, Lost and Found, this prolific writer, producer, director and once advocate for gay rights witnessed what many would call a renewing of his mind. By all accounts, Jackson’s life was perfect, a highly educated man with a great job, making a great income, what many only dream about. Jackson’s name was becoming known throughout the country and the next rising star in the Gay Community. That was until God called upon him.

The calling came in the form a trusted friend who is now his Pastor. She invited Jackson to her church for Sunday Worship Service and unbeknownst to him, his life would be turned upside down. In the Pastor’s message, God asked Jackson three times, ‘Do you really love me.’ Jackson’s reply like many was yes, because he realized that only idiot would tell the Holy One no. Once Jackson replied with an answer of ‘yes,’ Jackson was then given a command from God that was so profound that time seemed to stand still, God replied, ‘Prove it!’

Completely caught off guard, Jackson set out to prove his love for God. He started becoming saturated in the Word (Holy Bible) and distanced himself from the things, people and places that, God had revealed to him, through His Word as wrong. Jackson realized that these ungodly items created a wedge between God and himself, and the love God had always provided, removed him from the love God was attempting to provide. As a result of these revelations, Jackson quit his successful job and discontinued a life he once nurtured, relished and enjoyed.

Through his outreach ministry, Jackson has been inspired and has set out to inspire many others through the Word of God. Jackson’s overall mission is to help others discover the truth about God’s everlasting and unconditional love.

This once Advocate of gay rights is now an Advocate of God’s rights.

GCMW: Please include Ken Jackson in your prayers as he navigates the hostility he is certain to receive from the people he once entertained. You can order Ken Jackson’s book by visiting our bookstore.

LIAR Express: Equality Riders kick off protest

Soulforce seems to have a problem telling the truth. That’s no big surprise, as we saw that with the mega church media scam in July. But just about every aspect of Soulforce (farce?) operations routinely use lies and distortions to shoot their equality vemon further into society. They have been stalking Christian colleges for the last two years.

We’ve reported before on the Equality Riders. They remind me of the door to door magazine hucksters who choose socially confused kids from low income, broken homes, feed them a chunk of lies and then put them on buses to lie and sell magazines. And sometimes other things. Take a look at one of the co-leaders of the group, a exJW. He too likes to engage in lying among other things.

SAFE (Students Against False Equality) posted on their blog that ahead of their protest commencing at Liberty University,  Soulforce released a “media advisory” with patently false information. The statement said (in all caps) ”Liberty to allow Equality Riders on Campus”. Exgaywatch spread the falsehood without even so much as questioning it.

But the Lynchburg News Advance quoted LU spokesman Johnnie Moore as saying “We told them that they were restricted to the sidewalks.â€

The group distributed a news release Monday afternoon stating that “Five young adult Equality Riders will donate gay-affirming Christian books to the Liberty University library and talk with students about safety and acceptance for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students.â€

Liberty Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. said the school had not agreed to allow the activists on campus.

“I’m not sure where that information is coming from,†he said. “I don’t know if there’s a misunderstanding, or what.â€

Captain Al Thomas with the LPD said he had approved Soulforce’s application to demonstrate but had not said the group would be allowed on campus.

“That’s going to be totally Liberty’s call. It’s their discretion. It’s private property,†Thomas said.

“When they (Soulforce members) are on city property, I’ll make sure they’re safe and orderly. If they decide to venture on campus, then we will help Liberty (University Police Department) with that if needed.â€

Now, let’s see if we can figure this out: “allowed on campus”,  ”restricted to sidewalk”? Those two sound as different as east and west. And why would any Christian school want to allow these people access to their students?? That’s like a Jewish synagogue letting a bunch of Nazis teach jewish history to its congregation.

The diversity lie of the inclusion church

This page contained an embedded video. Click here to view it.

Rev. Dennis Meredith stopped preaching against homosexuality when his son became a homosexual and in doing so became a case study example of what happens when a church abandons the truth for a lie.

But listen close.  While Meredith pitches the change as embracing diversity, a glaring statistical fact of the inclusion church ideology is that ”diversity” only includes homosexuals with money and talents. Meredith estimates Tabernacle’s membership to be 85% homosexual.

In order to keep the money of the gay members flowing, Meredith sets the bar so low a rat could shimmy under it.  There’s no way Meredith can preach true salvation in a church like this because he would have to preach the reason for our need to be saved. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  And by doing that he would have to talk about repentance from sin. Preaching  about sin and repentance will convict people and the gay church crowd won’t tolerate those types of “negative” messages about who they are. This is typical of gay churches.

In essence Tabernacle is nothing more than a  gay club open for business on Sunday mornings.

Briefly watching: Jakes, Pearson and Blake

Several current reports pertaining to issues GCM Watch has covered before are worth noting briefly.

Although unconfirmed by Church of God in Christ (COGIC) officials, word is out that TD Jakes will be preaching at the organization’s 101st convocation in Memphis. Several sources have said Jakes will speak on Sunday night. More on this as it unfolds.

Disgraced former Azusa founder, Carlton Pearson,  who began preaching a false gospel called inclusion eight years ago, has folded his church into a Unitarian congregation according to the Tulsa World. Pearson’s church, at the height of his Pentecostal popularity, numbered overed 6,000. Pearson has also been showing up at Atlanta’s gay inclusive trending Cathedral at Chapel Hill founded by another disgraced minister Earl Paulk.

Defending Contending says Christian teacher Ravi Zacharias has “crashed and burned” by compromising sound doctrine. Zacharias called a Roman Catholic mystic “one of the greatest saints of recent memory”. GCM Watch questioned Zacharias response to gay christianity here.

A COGIC Evangelist questions current presiding bishop’s committment to upholding biblical truth about homosexuality. Evangelist O A Flagg says Presiding Bishop Charles Blake “seriously loosened holiness moorings” when he allowed openly homosexual cleric Rev. Peter Gomes to preach twice at West Angeles.

Another gay christian pens yet another arrogant, heresy-laden book  defending homosexual christianity. Dr. Patrick Chapman, who says he tried to be straight but failed, now blames that on “evangelicals” While Chapman repeats several worn out cliches he urges gays to get into the religious battle by “learning the bible” which he believes will ultimately defuse all Christian opposition to homosexuality. As GCM Watch noted before the religious gay agenda is in lock step with the political gay agenda. Although they claim to be Christians, their ultimate goal is to destroy opposition to homosexual culture.

A black Christian film producer is under fire from the homosexual community for his play “Church Mess” in which it is said that God can heal AIDS. Homosexual activists called the belief of Atlanta-based Revs. Chad and wife Alicia Cooper a “perverse and dangerous message”. The play opens in Winston-Salem, NC today.
