America's Got Talent was on with its premiere episode of the season tonight and featured a whole new format where the acts who try out do so not just in front of the three judges but also a full theater of people.

I love to know folks are reading my articles and, on the surface, Link Love seems like a great idea. It is basically taking a tip from the blogosphere and implementing a technology called "trackback" or "pingbacks" where you are informed when someone else links to your blog post.

A "Vote for Change 2008" bumpersticker was affixed to the wall in the bathroom stall scene in the final episode of House on Fox networks two nights ago. Fox is often decried as a bastion of conservative thought and speech (particularly their news channel).

This summer there looks to be a series of good movies coming out. I get like this almost every year and end up not seeing any of them but I always hope to see a few. This year's lineup however looks a bit better than any of the recent summers I can remember.

Don't ask me why you would want to do this - I have no idea. However, a request came through my newsvine mail asking me to crank out a bookmarklet that would enable a user to vote on all comments on an article/seed via a single click.

Malcolm Middleton isn't really a band but a guy. His name just happens to sound like a TV show - he didn't even change it for publicity sake. Malcolm is a guitarist and has a history of playing in various punk bands throughout the 1990s.

Police in Portsmouth Ohio are saying a teacher and one other person have been shot in Notre Dame Elementary in Portsmouth, Ohio. Portsmouth is near the southernmost part of Ohio and lies just across the Ohio river from West Virginia.
Give Up Soy For Lent - Even If You Aren't Catholic

I'm not a Catholic but my wife and kids are and the Lenten season is upon us. My eldest daughter has to pick something to give up for Lent - I typically tell people I gave up Catholicism for Lent about 20 years ago but most of the Catholics I know don't find much humor in that.

thanks for the CoH scirpt. as a minor update to it, if you add
location.replace('#entercomment');
to the end of the bookmarklet, it'll take the user directly to the box instead of them having to scroll down to it.

They were partially finished - Life has gotten very busy lately so I didn't even have time to finish what I started. In fact I only finished one pick. I'll publish it (it was wrong) along with my MNF pick for this week.
