Trains in an airplane place? I love this country!

This is the final shot from my trip to and back from Nashville for my job interview. I took it standing next to my car on the fifth level of the parking garage at midway.

Looking out over the train-yard I thought there wasn't anything really interesting to shoot. Everything looked so static. But I took a shot anyhow and decided to tilt the camera slightly and framed the trains just inside the frame's border.

After, in post-processing, I decided the color version did, indeed, look a little flat. So I went with black and white, bumped up the contrast considerably, burned a few areas to emphasize the grittiness and grime on the trains , and in the end, I really liked what i saw.

Hope you enjoy it, too.

Thanks, flevia and Micropus_apus, for stopping by and granting awards! I also enjoy the geometry of it. The more I look at this photo, the more it grows on me.

And the emptiness of the trains make them seem somehow more poignant.

Thanks!

Love the lines of the tracks and cars, the contrast of the tones and the contrast of the street light sticking forward against the grain.

Thanks, John Barone, for the award! I agree, Don, it's all good. It's great when serendipity converges into a great shot. Thanks, one42chrisp, for your kudos!
