before setting off i had checked the area on 'googe maps' to see what if any landmarks or interesting features were there. on the edge of the moor there appeared to be a large lake with a few trees along the side,i carefully made a note of how this lake could be reached and made my way there. i think the satellite image was taken a long time ago during a period of heavy rain. never mind,the distant rocks on the horizon made this small lake(ette) worth capturing.
in the end i cheated a bit by taking a picture of the lake and another of a nearby outcrop of rocks and merged the two in photoshop.
the merge was made in the mid distant ground between the lake and rocks using the 'darken' blending mode. i also had to flip the rocks image horizontally to give the balance i was looking for.

This was done with Photoscape...using some gamma darkening and back lighting....I only have a point and shoot camera and use free program.
