"This Is Why I'm Hot" is a single by rapper Mims. It reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, #2 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and #1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks.

The song debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart, selling 140,874 downloads[citation needed]. It remained the top-selling digital single for one additional week.

By early March 2007, the online release of the song had propelled it from number 32 to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in one week; this was the third-greatest rise to number one in the history of the Billboard Hot 100.[1] It remained at number one in the next week[2] until it was surpassed by "Glamorous", by Fergie and Ludacris the week after in the issue dated March 24, 2007.

MIMS performed the song on Wild 'N Out: Spring Break Edition.

On June 3, 2007 it entered the UK Singles Chart at the peak of #18.

[edit] Song highlights

The song features samples from Kanye West's "Jesus Walks", E-40's "Tell Me When to Go", Dr. Dre's "Nuthin' But a "G" Thang" and Mobb Deep's "Shook Ones Pt. II". Each sampled song is played when MIMS mentions the area from which each artist originated ("Shook Ones, Pt. II" for New York, "Tell Me When to Go'" for the Bay Area, "Nuthin' But a "G" Thang" for Compton, and "Jesus Walks" for Chicago).

The official remix, titled "Blackout Remix", features Cham and Junior Reid, which it's featured in the album.

A sample of the song plays before every at bat for New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez at all home games at Yankee Stadium.

There is a reggaeton remix of the song called "Por Eso Estoy Pegao" Ft. Daddy Yankee.
