I have removed references to the Internet Archive and Google Books; there is no evidence that either institution is using robotic book scanners. The Internet Archive has published photos and descriptions of how they can books, and the process seems to be entirely manual. Google's captured books often have fingers in them, suggesting as well that there is no scanning robot involved.

If you can document any large scale use of book scanning robots for digital libraries, please do so, but don't just guess at who may be using what. 220.110.202.91 (talk) 18:40, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
