[edit] Aircraft Heading

Heading is the direction the aircraft/ship nose points relative to true north or magnetic north regardless of the actual direction of motion, and is called "true heading" or "magnetic heading" respectively. It is measured clockwise from true north or magnetic north to the aircraft nose in degrees ranging from 360° to 359°.

For vehicles, since it is not affected by wind, actual direction of the motion is the same as heading. --Natasha2006 20:56, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
