Microsoft threw the switch on its new mega data center in Dublin on July 1 and expects to do same for the one it's built in Chicago on July 20. The facilities are meant to support the company's Online, Live and cloud services. Dublin is Microsoft's first mega site outside the U.S. It covers 303,000 square feet capable of 5.4 megawatts of power, now on its way to 22.2 megawatts with demand. (March 14, 2009) - Cisco's January sales were down 20% from a year ago. Its customers are holding off their purchasing decisions under the current economic climate. The only growth potential the company has today is in the virtualization market, which is expected to increase by more than 40% in 2009. Cisco is not exactly a software company. It's a great service and I was really impressed by the responsiveness of the application and the ease with which users could drag and zoom maps from a Web browser.
