We really want to know what the origin of fanboy is. Merriam-Webster has the date the word was first used as 1919.
Jason of Springfield, OR thought this might be what we were looking for:
"Fan boy actually dates back to ancient Rome. The fan boy was generally stationed just to the left of the piss boy (see Mel Brooks History of the world part 1 1981). Thanks for asking! Those of us in the know are always happy to help."
Now, Walt was a bit more speculative:
"I'll bet Fanboy comes from the guy's who used to prop planes to get the motors started ... that's the guy who grabs the propeller and pulls on it to get the airplane motor started."
Please! Help us find out what the origin of Fanboy is. We really want to know.
We had some inquiries whether or not the Voltaic Solar Back Pack would cause any problems at the airport. Sam contacted Voltaic and Jeff Crystal responded with this:
"The team here and lots of our customers have been on flights and haven't been stopped and exposed to any excess scrutiny except by people and staff curious about the solar panels -- 'hey are those solar panels?!' type of statements. In our mind, this is a good thing as more people get exposed to renewable energy and are often surprised to know that it really works."

Can you give your opinions on RAID 0? Would the performance difference of the 2 drives really make a difference? My system is fast and scores a 4.6 in Vista. I basically use my PC for video editing and web surfing. Would it be worth it to go from 1 drive to a RAID 0 setup? I'm looking to make a fast PC even faster.
