Firefox Extension: MoneyQuake
About a year or so ago I started working on a Firefox extension which would be along the same lines as Adsense Notifier, but would support lots of different systems, such as Text Link Ads, Yahoo Publisher Network, The Rubicon Project etc.
Well as we all know I’m quite lazy and didn’t get that far, I was partially not wanting to work on it too much as I knew Firefox 3 was only a few months away and didn’t want to have to rewrite it when it was released.
Well somehow today I found an extension which does exactly what I wanted my extension to do! MoneyQuake adds itself to the Firefox statusbar and when hovered it will show current earnings for accounts and unlike Adsense Notifier, it supports multiple accounts 
Make Open Office Look Like Microsoft Office?
At work everyone always asks for Microsoft Office on their computers and we just give them Open Office, as it does the job and obviously saves us money. But some people are really annoying and keep going on saying it doesn’t work etc blah but it’s rubbish they just want the Microsoft version.
So I decided to have a look on the Internet to see if I could make Open Office look like Microsoft Office and try and trick the stupid users 
Maybe by theming the programs and changing the icons and stuff. I was surprised that I didn’t find anything! Maybe one day when I’m really bored I’ll extract the icons from Microsoft Office and ResHack them into Open Office and try it out on some sales person or something!
If anyone has any ideas how I could do it then let me know!
Current MooPlug Progess - Mac Version On Way!
So now that MooPlug 0.4.6 has been released I am already working on the next version! I have finally got a Mac setup and have started working on the OS X version which has been much requested! MooPlug now compiles on a Mac, but the only working function is Moo_Version, but it’s a start!
It will be a good few months before there’s anything even remotely usable really as the vast majority of the plugin will have to be re-written to work on a Mac! And as this is my first Mac C++ project, it won’t be a quick job!
I have also been working on some SEO for the MooPlug website, improving the actual site itself and get some incoming links, so I’ll keep an eye on wether that makes any difference.
The next thing I am currently woring on for the Windows version of MooPlug is progress dialogs for some functions such as Moo_FTPDownload and Moo_ZipCompress, which obvioulsy become more useful when working with larger files. Just testing out some code atm, next stage is to integrate it with the MooPlug code, expect some screenshots soon!
MooPlug 0.4.6 Released
I have just released MooPlug 0.4.6!
This release is mostly lots of small fixes and optimisations, but a lot of work went into improving Moo_ZipCompress in this release.

Moo_PrinterDefault - (Note: doesn’t effect FileMaker printing.) Moo_PrinterList
Fixed Moo_DialogColour - bFull wasn’t working. Moo_DialogColour, Moo_DialogFile and Moo_DialogFolder are now all shown modal to FileMaker. Fixed possible crashes in Moo_FolderList, Moo_ProcessList and Moo_ZipList. Fixed missing return value from Moo_FolderExists. Changed Moo_FileCreate to Moo_FileWrite. Moo_ZipCompress changes:
Now supports the zipping of folders. An output file can now be specified as 2nd parameter. Input file filters are supported, eg *.txt Boolean 4th Parameter bFolderName added, when set to false files added from folders get added to the root of the zip file. Files can be overwritten in a zip file. bOverwrite now means wether internal files in the zip are overwritten, not the zip file itself.

February 2008 Earnings
Not many posts this month, but I’ll get straight onto last months earnings.

Slight increase over last month generally. But as the first account hasn’t hit $100 I won’t get paid next month, so I definately want to try make sure I hit $100 every month with that.
I have a few things planned this month which I really hope I do manage to work on. One of my sites which I have quite an interest in is paying off quite nicely. It’s not actually earned much, but the few clicks I have had have been quite high! So if I increase both content and traffic, it should be a nice consistant money maker!
What Have I Been Upto?
Well I haven’t really been upto a huge amount, working a little bit on a few of my websites.
Mostly been working on MooPlug, the next release has greatly improved Moo_ZipCompress functionality!
Also Who Sent It might be brought back from the dead as it’s been requested a few times lately.
I’ll post an income report for Fenruary later.
