Relationship Breakers

I have identified a handful of relationship breakers, and I have thought about my previous failed relationships before I met Mel.

Dishonesty – it’s deadly inexcusable, once it is broken, it remains broken.

Snooping – if you keep checking on your partner, it saps the relationship. Come on, everybody wants their freedom, space and friends. If you can’t give your partner that, then the relationship is superfluous. Give and take.

Lack of attention – we thirst for our loved ones support and attention, for better or worse. When we do not get it, we end up feeling scorned. BAD.

Fights galore – there ARE fights in every relationship. FACT. But, the onus is to clarify the arguments, not exaggerating it, or raising your voice simply with the aim to hurt. It’s all about patience, in these contexts, I have learned that silence is golden.

Boredom – I have been guilty of ending my relationships in the past, simply because I got bored of it. If you’re not spontaneous enough, it’s time for you to have a relationship with a proboscis monkey.

I think boredom comes due to distance.. and I guess it would be not wrong breakup if you just don’t have any feel over that person. Its not fair to him/her.

Gallivantress Nope, cause you’re not boring. ;-)

Bee Nee LDR does bring about boredom.

cdason Not really. You can be in a relationship, living under the same roof, and yet be bored out your mind with the relationship. I’m speaking through my past experience. ;-) And yes, breaking up is a fair thing to do.

I came across this post when I was looking up Relationships on your blog. I kinda need some input here…
My BF and I have been going out for a year now and he suddenly feels that our relationship is like a routine. Like he’s obligated to go out and do stuff with me. He claims he still loves me but I don’t think so. Maybe he cares about me but the love’s no longer there. Does that make sense?
He did say that he wants to work this out but he also wants to spend more time with the guys…Am I about to be dumped?

scorpgal – Well, try to rekindle the fire. I’m sure you know how to ignite his passion. If it doesn’t work, just have a frank discussion with him. Don’t overanalyse the situation.
