I’ll Go The Distance

I read this quote the other day, “Sometimes you have to go a long distance out of your way to come back a short distance, correctly.†It didn’t sound monumental at first, but after having reexamined where I am right now, I’ve grown to recognize the profoundness in it.
Think about the person who grew up in a chantey town, can’t wait to depart for the big city; does it, piddling the better part of his life there, yet returns in middle age to the place of his roots.
How many instances have we jumped ship and grazed greener pastures, only to return to that old green grass later? Every one of us at some point in life wander about waiting for that something special to happen, perhaps a UFO abduction, or an epiphany that supporting Arsenal is the way of life. LOL.
To sum it up, listen to this Bon Jovi tune (ala Creed) taken from their 2002 album, BOUNCE. The message – “Never give up the fight, and go the distance”.

I had never heard of this song before but the title reminded me of Bob Seger’s 1982 album “The Distance”, of which one track ‘Coming Home’ sums up nicely :

Lex And in no way I’m gonna contest with her. We need definitely more people like her and not the ones who groan about their lives in Malaysia and personally not doing anything positive to improve it.

Arrrggghhh! Not another image of Schumacher! HAve’t we had enough? Speaking of ‘jumping to the other side’ I really do think Kimi is in for a rude shock at the Scuderia.

Keropok Well, what can I say, Schumacher kicked ass and upset a few pansy drivers during his reign. He made Benetton look like world-beaters with an under-powered Ford V8. He even forced a major F1 rule change. LOL.

Lex I wholly agree because we’re not grateful enough of the things we have. And that is disappointing as that makes most of us Malaysians a glass-half-empty lot. Except the ones who support Michael Schumacher and Ferrari.

i believe that everyone is trying to go over the fence as the the grass is indeed greener on the other side … but after tasting it, you get this weird feeling, its not realy to your liking as you’ve had the grass back on the oth other for too long and now you are missing it, so back you go where you come …

Hi Daniel, yes when you have moved around a lot and exoerianced many things looking for what !!!! you realize it’s not where you are but who you are. we nearly always make for our place of origin and only then we can view the glass as being half full. phew i must go and lie down in a dark room now ha ha x

what a song the distance…
Once,i hear it in a friend`s birthday ( She was celebrating her 15´s, here in argentina, for girls,the 15´s are so important because she become a woman, so, usually they make a serious party in a salon, everybody dressed elegantly)
i always liked the beggining,before jon starts singing…

for example,with me… =P
for example,now with the rugby… I never liked it,so,i didnt see the matches, but people here were just like me, just like the Pumas were making history in france, everybody hangs of that, something like this happen in football, everybody are coaches here… :S
