Using Other Applications with Chandler Hub

Step One: Sign up for a Chandler Hub Account.

Apple iCal 2.x and 3.x

Apple iCal 2.x (Mac OS X 10.4 - Tiger) only supports view-only sharing and syncing of Calendars. Apple iCal 3.x (Mac OS X 10.5 - Leopard) supports view-and-edit publishing and syncing of your personal Calendars. However, it only supports view-only subscribing to other people's shared calendars.

Publish from Apple iCal 3.x

Currently, you can not publish calendars from Apple iCal 3.x to Chandler Hub. Instead, you must first create them on Chandler Hub and then sync your account from Apple iCal. Once you've done that, you can add to and edit the calendars from Apple iCal.
Log in to Chandler Hub. Create your calendars. From Apple iCal 3.x, go to the Accounts tab under iCal>>Preferences... Fill in your Chandler Hub user name and password. Click on Server Settings and enter your Chandler Hub Account URL: http://hub.chandlerproject.org/dav/{insert your user name}
Note iCal 3.x will sync all the collections you've published or created on Chandler Hub. (Collections you've subscribed to will _not be synced.)_ Warning Deleting collections from your Chandler Hub account will cause problems in Apple iCal 3.x.

Publish from Apple iCal 2.x

From Apple iCal, select the Calendar you would like to publish and go to Calendar>>Publish... Select Private Server from the Publish on: pulldown. In the Base URL: field, enter https://hub.chandlerproject.org/dav/{insert your user name}. Log in with your Chandler Hub account information. Click [Publish]

Mozilla Sunbird

Sunbird is the Mozilla desktop calendar application. Note These instructions were written for Sunbird Version 0.3.

Publish

In Sunbird, click the Calendars tab. Right-click the name of the calendar you wish to publish. Select Publish Entire Calendar In the Publishing URL: field, enter your home directory URL followed by a filename of your choice to identify the calendar. The filename must end with the .ics extension. An example is http://localhost:8080/cosmo/dav/bcm/Home.ics. Click the [Publish] button. Log in with your Chandler Hub account information. Click [Okay] Click [Close].
Note Sunbird does not remember the URL of the published calendar, and it does not automatically update the published calendar with any changes you make in Sunbird. If you want to update your published calendar, you have to go through all of the above steps again, including entering the Publishing URL.
