Kikujiro
A child, a little child….have you ever imagined a young Usysses adventuring towards his Odyssey in Japan? Now is the time!
Kikujiro, full of sad enthusiasm and incredulous amusement, follows his path, his hungry path for knowledge. it's a flesh and blood representation of the of mythical but human desire to know and the exceptional thing is that he is a child, and not a brawny, godlike hero of Pagan mythology. As a child he considers his origins and understands that he was not "made to live like unto brutes, but for pursuit of virtue and of knowledge" (Dante, Comedy, Hell, XXVII, vv.119–29, Longfellow, 1887). It does not matter what he finds at the end of his journey….but the means an surroundings are the pivotal moments of his life. Enjoy
