Jennifer Garner’s Wavy Hair

Jennifer Garner At Juno PremiereDon’t count Jennifer Garner out as a fashionista. The former star of Alias has been stepping out in style with her hair coiffed in an amazing array of great hairstyles.

You’ve all heard it haven’t you? Waves are backkkkk in a big way and Ms. Garner showed off hers at the 12-07 recent Juno premiere with Ellen Page. (Image of Jennifer Garner - DailyCeleb.com - all rights reserved)

Jennifer was decked out in an very stunning strapless Gucci above-the-knee gown (hey, I love fashion, remember?) with her hair parted down the middle, pulled back from her face and then pulled forward into undulating (cool word, eh?) waves that barely brushed the top of her strapless gown.

She wore Neil Lane diamond and plainum earrings and a necklace. All that cool fashion was finished off with sexy Louboutin heels in a shiny black with black and red heels.

It would be wrong of me to claim it was easy to recreate Jennifer’s waves because I know she works with some of the biggest and best celebrity hairdressers in Hollywood as well as some of the top stylists like Rachel Zoe. I am sure that the hairdresser who created her waves labored long and hard to create just the right balance of waves on either side of her lovely head.

Steal Jennifer’s Waves

Unless you are blessed with naturally wavy hair, creating “perfect” waves like Jennifer’s is not as easy as it might seem. Oh yes, I could lie to you but what’s the point? I don’t want you cursing my name when your waves don’t come out looking like Jens.

However…I will share some Hollywood wave making secrets.

JenniferGarnerFaceShot21. This set was most likely done as a “wet set” which allowed for super duper wave creation. The key to a wet set is to shampoo hair, add a good mousse or gel to help “set” the waves and then roll damp hair onto medium to large curlers. The hair is then “cooked” under a big hood, soft cap or similar hair dryer OR dried with a blow dryer.
2. Each curl is uncurled to check for hold and then rolled around a finger, pinned to the head and sprayed with a firm holding spray. The curls are allowed to dry from any spray application.
3. After the makeup is applied, each curl is unpinned and may be “touched up” with a medium to large curling iron to give the curl extra oomp. The wimpy curls are repinned into a loop to allow them to “set”.
4. Once all the curls have passed muster, they are unpinned and then de-constructed with mostly likely a Mason Pearson boar’s bristle brush. Don’t believe me? I have watched celeb hair master Ken Paves do this a number of times on Jessica Simpson.
5. After the curls are de-constructed, they are formed into long loose waves. A curling iron may be used to wrap the curls in a spiral form around the outside of the barrel of a large barrel curling iron. Then they are finger picked and arranged into perfect cascading waves.
6. The finished waves, after arranged into a style like Jen’s with a center part and pulled up off the face, are sprayed with a firm hold spray and then swiped with a shine product for instant shimmer.

Viola….bullet proof waves guaranteed to hold up all night but look like the wearer just rolled out of bed.

What did I tell you…this takes a lot of work to make waves look casual and right-out-bed.
