Director, Human Resources - Oakland, CA

Mission:

As the strategic HR advisor reporting to the CEO, you'll create the Human Resources function for Pandora. By assessing the needs of employees, managers, business partners and listeners, you'll forge a plan to leverage Pandora's reputation as an employer of choice. By understanding our business model, you'll create a one-of-a-kind infrastructure to support current needs while providing a solid foundation upon which the company can grow. Responsibilities:

Single-handedly you'll meet all of Pandora's human resources needs on a daily and long-range basis. Using a strategic focus to assess and plan for the Company's needs, you'll design and implement HR programs as required. In addition to introducing best practices in HR management, other tasks may include:

Advertising Project Manager

Advertising Project Manager (APM) is a key contributor in the Advertising and Sales Operations team responsible for implementing, maintaining and enhancing larger, customized online advertising campaigns. This position involves sales and client support, campaign project management, execution and reporting. APMs are expected to perform as team leaders, mentoring newer employees.APMs may be aligned to a Territory and serve as the primary point of contact for all Ad Ops inquiries coming out of the territory.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that online advertising campaigns are implemented in an accurate and timely manner to ensure complete and accurate revenue recognition. Successfully manage larger, custom, cross-platform advertising projects including implementation of new ad products. Serve as a mentor to newer team members, leading by example and passing down best practices for successful campaign management. Identify improvements to existing business processes and be an active contributor to the growth of the Ad Ops department. Provide high-quality support to the sales team in the territory of alignment. Develop a good understanding of the pre-sales pipeline and be able to answer questions regarding inventory availability, product specs, functionality and timelines. Maintain exceptional standards of quality through accurate and timely fulfillment of all IOs. Monitor / reconcile campaigns across delivery, financial and third party ad serving systems. Perform regular quality assurance/quality control checks on client campaigns to ensure they are running as contracted. Provision, track, measure, and analyze the performance of multiple campaigns. Update / maintain detailed client campaign reports on a weekly, bi-weekly and/or monthly basis. Work collaboratively with sales to recommend campaign pacing and optimization modifications, leveraging understanding of advertiser and product performance. Cultivate positive business relationships with clients and advertising, graphic design and technical teams. Act as client / sales contact for any campaign performance questions and other issues. Troubleshoot any ad creative issues that impact tracking, implementation, or reporting. Work with graphical advertising, 3rd party advertising tags, and Rich Media creative. Work directly with client on any and all elements related to creative specifications and submission. Review Campaign Status Report (CSR) with Manager weekly for latest update on campaigns. Support on-call program (as needed) to enhance campaign and quality support during non-business hours.

Requirements:

2-4 years experience in online advertising, project management, client services or marketing preferred. Experience with one or more Internet ad management preferred. (Particularly DoubleClick&#8482 DFP or DSM product a plus.) Experience with mobile and video advertising and ad ops platforms a plus. Extremely proactive and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and in a timely manner. Excellent client service, organizational abilities, and verbal and written communication skills with both internal colleagues and external clients. Enjoy working independently and in a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge across the department. Results-driven with strong analytical skills. Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel. Experience with HTML, Macromedia Flash, Javascript a plus. Must love music!

Database Administrator [DBA-01]

We've built a complex cluster around PostgreSQL for scalability and high availability. It's imperative that you approach administration with an emphasis on repeatability, testability and consistency. The demands on this system are increasing rapidly as we grow the userbase and add more functionality. We're looking for individuals who can help us continue to scale our queries, our systems and our hardware to meet our growing needs. We're also looking for someone who has a deep understanding of hardware architecture and understands how to tune database systems appropriately based on a particular architecture. You will be expected to come up to speed quickly on difficult problems, become a significant contributor to a hard-working team, and to take pride in your work.

Requirements:
You should have a deep understanding of database systems, systems programming, and the factors that affect distributed system performance. We have a strong preference for folks with PostgreSQL experience.

Minimum 5 years experience developing and administering database infrastructure for mission critical applications. Strong SQL skills and deep experience writing stored procedures. Experience maintaining large databases(>1TB) Experience developing stored procedures (PL/pgSQL) Experience supporting redundant systems with 24X7 availability requirement A deep understanding of database design principals Thorough knowledge of current hardware systems, RAID and disk subsystems commonly used in fault tolerant production environments Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues BS or better in Computer Science or a related field.
