Democrats Make Early Efforts to Protect Corrupt Candidate
Posted By: Greg Blair, July 15, 2008 - 4:55 PM

In an environment in which the Republican Party is supposedly the one with the image problem, Democrats kicked off their 2008 ad campaign in PA-11 in defense of corrupt incumbent Paul Kanjorski. ABC News has the story:

"The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has purchased ad time in Pennsylvania's 11th Congressional District targeting Hazelton Mayor Lou Barletta, the Republican Challenger who is looking to unseat Democratic Rep. Paul Kanjorski....

"The race could boil down to a referendum on Kanjorski's 24 years in Washington, which Republicans feel will only help their candidate." (ABC News, 7/14/08)

The DCCC has plenty of reasons to be worried about Paul Kanjorski and his long record of unethical transgressions. Rep. Kanjorski's well-documented gaffes include an admission that he opposed the Iraq war only for political gain, repeated skirting of Federal Elections Commission rules, and an FBI investigation into earmarks doled out to a company run by his nephew that later went bankrupt.

With a record heavy on corruption and thin on accomplishments, Paul Kanjorski is extremely vulnerable against a candidate as strong as Lou Barletta. With this early ad buy in the 11th district, the DCCC has tipped its hand and indicated their fear of losing Kanjorski's seat in November.

Paul Kanjorski has come to represent business as usual in the Democrat Party. It's time for a change in Pennsylvania.

I dropped by to see if the Republican Party continues to ignore the outrage of the base . . . Yep, appears so.

We're screwed '08

So why is it that in '06 the Democrats made a lot of noise over the " Culture of Corruption" while at present the list of Democrats abusing power are being allowed to hide under the desk .. Can the GOP find s a spine and return the favor via Press Conferences, Op Pieces and some HEAVY advertising???

Ya know the one thing I like about conservative Republican politics.....Abe Lincoln. Ole' Honest Abe. The last 'great' Republican leader we had. It's been a while, you must admit. I wouldn't call Reagan a great leader either. The only thing he did was make the country aware of what a drug problem it had!

Let's face it Pub's; it don't work no more. Your ways have become so antiquated the only way you feel like you can win a Presidential election is to smear the other candidate. Funny that I don't see the Obama camp resorting to such tactics. And if they are, I rarely see evidence of it.

Good luck in this up coming election. You'll need it.

PS..Barack is not Muslim...I hate to rain on your parade!

We have to remember that Nancy Polosi will not have to worry about fueling her vehicles the government pays her bill and she has enough money to where nothing is going to put a dent in her life style. They need to ship her Reed,Gore and any other extreme inviromentalist out of our country before they totally destroy us or reduce them down to the working mans shoes and see how they like worrying about what is going to happen next.

I'm a died-in-the-wool Democrat. But after seeing this photo that accompanied this message...I just don't know how anyone who loves this country can vote for a guy that refuses to put his hand over his heart and verbalize the Pledge of Allegiance.

I do love this country I was born and raised in. And I do want to see the "change for the better" that change Obama is promoting. I do want to see every man woman and child (every citizen) of this great nation have decent health care insurance. I want to see that people that want to work be able to find work. And not work that just pays minimum wages.

Below is the e-mail that I received. I don't know if the photo that accompanied it will show up or not. I was just shocked when I saw the photo. Well here you have it:

'The Pledge of Allegiance' - by Senator John McCain
'As you may know, I spent five and one half years as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. In the early years of our imprisonment, the NVA kept us in solitary confinement or two or three to a cell. In 1971 the NVA moved us from these conditions of isolation into large rooms with as many as 30 to 40 men to a room.

This was, as you can imagine, a wonderful change and was a direct result of the efforts of millions of Americans on behalf of a few hundred POWs 10,000 miles from home.

One of the men who moved into my room was a young man named Mike Christian.
Mike came from a small town near Selma , Alabama . He didn't wear a pair of shoes until he was 13 years old. At 17, he enlisted in the US Navy. He later earned a commission by going to Officer Training School Then he became a Naval Flight Officer and was shot down and captured in 1967. Mike had a keen and deep appreciation of the opportunities this country and our military provide for people who want to work and want to succeed.

As part of the change in treatment, the Vietnamese allowed some prisoners to receive packages from home. In some of these packages were handkerchiefs, scarves and other items of clothing.

Mike got himself a bamboo needle. Over a period of a couple of months, he created an American flag and sewed on the inside of his shirt.

Every afternoon, before we had a bowl of soup, we would hang Mike's shirt on the wall of the cell and say the Pledge of Allegiance.

I know the Pledge of Allegiance may not seem the most important part of our day now, but I can assure you that in that stark cell it was indeed the most important and meaningful event.

One day the Vietnamese searched our cell, as they did periodically, and discovered Mike's shirt with the flag sewn inside, and removed it.

That evening they returned, opened the door of the cell, and for the benefit of all of us, beat Mike Christian severely for the next couple of hours. Then, they opened the door of the cell and threw him in. We cleaned him up as well as we could.

The cell in which we lived had a concrete slab in the middle on which we slept Four naked light bulbs hung in each corner of the room.

As I said, we tried to clean up Mike as well as we could. After the excitement died down, I looked in the corner of the room, and sitting there beneath that dim light bulb with a piece of red cloth, another shirt and his bamboo needle, was my friend, Mike Christian. He was sitting there with his eyes almost shut from the beating he had received, making another American flag. He was not making the flag because it made Mike Christian feel better. He was making that flag because he knew how important it was to us to be able to Pledge our allegiance to our flag and country.

So the next time you say the Pledge of Allegiance, you must never forget the sacrifice and courage that thousands of Americans have made to build our nation and promote freedom around the world. You must remember our duty, our honor, and our country.'

'I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisable, with liberty and justice for all.'

PASS THIS ON... And on... And on! You can even send it back to me, I don't mind, because its worth reading again.

oh......and then you have this clown, who refuses to place his hand on his heart and say the pledge......

Subject: Remember this picture on election day!
Let's all remember this on election day...if you have family serving in the military, make sure you send it along. I don't care for Hillary, but at least she shows respect for the country she lives in!
I had heard about this but a picture is definitely worth 1000 words! God save us!!!

Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem.
Barack Hussein Obama's photo (that's his real name).....the article said he REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE.....how in the hell can a man like this expect to be our next C commander-in-Chief

We need to vote all corrupt candidates out of office next November. Also all candidates who left on a 5 week vacation without doing their job should be fired, like it is in the private sector.
We should be completely independant from the oil of the Middle East.Shame on Washington for not acting on the behalf of all Americans.
