Nancy Pelosi Somehow Has Time to Pose for Harper's, Still Can't Schedule Energy Votes Posted By: Karen Hanretty, July 15, 2008 - 3:50 PM
According to a story in Politico, Nancy Pelosi is featured in the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar for her dashing sense of style and luxurious wardrobe. Pelosi poses for photographs wearing a humble, salt-of-the earth $1,300 Armani coat as well as a typical, everyday Escada pantsuit while divulging riveting beauty secrets:
"'Since I was in my 20s, I've been giving my face 30 hot splashes in the morning and at night, and I keep thinking, "If it's 25, oh my gosh, I'm going to fall apart...."
"She also admits wants to get some pretty clothes for the convention....
"'Fashion and all that it implies - hair, makeup - is an art form. If you look organized and well presented, people think you're organized in your mind and you take pride in yourself. And besides, it's fun. Isn't it fun?" (Politico, 7/15/08)
When she's not busy splashing her face, Pelosi is anything but organized and well-presented in her role as the leader of the so-called party of America's ordinary working men and women. As Roll Call points out, this little side project includes such burdensome tasks as putting a full-on block on meaningful energy legislation:
"Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) appears intent on preventing votes on opening more areas to offshore drilling despite the stirrings of a revolt by rank-and-file Democrats after months of concerted efforts by House Republicans....
Democrats spent the week after the July Fourth recess with a shift to pro-drilling rhetoric after months of press conferences where they ridiculed the idea.
But the rhetorical shift wasn't matched by much in the way of policy, as Pelosi has maintained that no new acres be opened for drilling along the East Coast, West Coast, portions of the Gulf Coast or in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska." (Roll Call, 7/14/08)
Perhaps Nancy Pelosi is more interested in primping and posing than she is in passing legislation that would ease the pain of record-high gas prices. Unfortunately for American voters, Pelosi has once again proven herself to be an out-of-touch obstructionist, more concerned about her time in the spotlight than America's ongoing energy crisis.
Amazing --Gas prices at an all record high and Nancy posing in ridiculously expensive clothes --I am not against wealthy people --all are entitled --however, do not pretend to CARE about those less fortunate while posing for Harpers --also a portrait of ultimate indulgence.
Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy and Obama --OH MY!
Someone needs to record all of the times in the past nine months Obama has said he made an error in judgment --What? Once our country is attacked again --he will say --Oh --I made a mistake, I denounce dah - dah - dah - dah ....... !!

The last 7 1/2 years haven't been made an error in judgment? What makes me think that you will not make another error in judgment this November. dah dah dah dah dah Pig Pig Pig Pig Pig.

I still would like to know what Cheney and his friends discussed at their big energy summit back in 2002. Oil and gasoline prices have been going up ever since. What did they do?

Love how W ties the Dems in knots all the while appearing dimwitted to them. Youd think the Dems would catch on by now, but nooo. Hysterical!
Regarding the red areas of no exploration allowed, its high times the producing areas in the Gulf and on land withheld shipment of product to the red zones. Let em find it elsewhere and pay the bill. Considering how much refining capacity is in the green zone that would be a big dent. My charity toward the whiners is a low tide right now.

All of the petroleum companies agree that drilling in the US will do NOTHING (or very very little) to affect the WORLDWIDE price for oil. The commodity market for oil is not as stupidly simple as you would like us to believe. Check your facts before trying to whip us into a frenzy. This is irresponsible and typical of what the Bush administration has done to us for 8 years.

What did the RNC do for the years it had majorities in Congress? With "W" as President on top of that! This is not a new issue.
If the people were smart they would see both parties seem to be taking orders from someone who does not have our best interests in mind.

I wish Nancy Palosi would go back
to California and stay. I think that
she should help those of us that
are having a hard time paying $4
for a gallon of gas. They talk
about The President's rating. Their's
is pretty bad. They are about to ruin
our country and I think we should run
them out of the country if they do.

I can not believe you are trashing a woman for doing a story in a magazine. Have you no other news to report? Why don't you report about how George and Dick took over an oil rich country and our gas prices are still going up? Why don't they pay us back in oil? Why don't they pay their own bills now? Don't trash someone for doing a puff piece in a puff magazine. Grow up. You had your chance in congress...

I use to be a democrat supporter! I am ashamed to admit it! We are voting rebuplican in the November primary! Go McCain!

It's imazing how the price of oil has dropped each day since the news was all about the USA drilling for their own oil and the President revoking the ban on offshore drilling. Congress has to listen to the will of the people and DRILL HERE AND DRILL NOW. It is affecting the price of gas!!!

Didnt anybody teach these people that work comes before play. Congratulations on hitting an all time low approval rating. Im sure all americans will be happy about your month long vacations, while the working class cant even afford a vacation. Maybe during vacation you can decide what you would rather do for a job , besides sucking every last dime from the many Americans who must work for a living. Attention all Bums , Get out of town.

Mary, sorry to intrude on your party, but it isn't the news of drilling that has lowered the price of oil, it's because people are using less because they refuse to pay the current price, it is called CONSERVING, that is what is lowering the price of oil. There is a decrease in demand....supply and demand remember, the Republican motto. But you go ahead and be a fat pig and ask that we drill, drill, drill and use more, more, more, until you pop like a balloon, you PIG!

Doesn't Nancy Pelosi know your supposed to Splash Cold water on your face, instead of Hot water? I bet she has never Filled her own Car up with Gas Either.I say we put her on a Slow Boat to China.

Congress should Trade Places with a Real Family for their Vacation. Maybe then, they would get off their ass and do what their Getting Paid to Do...Work For the American People.

I dont see how you think your going to beat these people by being polite...
Pelosi and the Democrat mafia have pulled out every dirty trick in the book to distort and sully the Republican image over the last 8 years and you Congressional Republicans have sat around most of the time acting like punching bags.
These people are NOT your friends. Poor George acts like Charley Brown trying to make friends with Lucy. He still doesnt get it.
The Democrat mafia are punching Republicans in balls every chance they get, Republicans just stand there saying "Aw shucks...they didnt mean it"
This doesnt incite confidence in the Republican Party or President Bush.
Its time to get real or get out

9th approval rating for congress.....how 'bout a "flush" (as in toilet) rating of 100?
Posted: bojangle2 on July 30, 2008 at 3:18 PM
Pelosi, what a joke! She is nothing but a narcissist bitch whose "power" has gone to her head. Maybe if she had one less face lift she would come up with more brains.

Nancy Piglosi is a disgrace to all americans not just the democrats. Just like all the pigs in D.C. they feed off of the american people under the gise that they represent all americans. But the truth be known they are all there for the money. They are suppose to work but have more vacation time then work time. When they are suppose to work they sit around and try to make the other party look bad. They get paid an unbelievable salery for doing nothing. Why is it that those clowns that are elected by the people think that they are better then the people that put them there? Maybe if they where paid the same saleries as the average american they would not be so high and mighty. Everyone in D.C. should be canned and we start over with real people and not all these egomaniacs that do not have to worry about money because they suck the american people dry for it.

Stop blaming that Airhead Nancy for your problems. She didn't vote herself into office. The people of California voted her in. If you don't like her talent (or lack of it) then get YOUR congress person to throw her out, which by the way, I heartily recommend!
Also we also should be screaming loud and clear to George W. to use his power to call Congress back into session, he has that power, I wish he had the ability.

I was a democrat until I was 50 yrs old. In 1990, I was so ashamed of the way they acted over the Gulf War, I changed parties. I'm still ashamed of them.
I am also ashamed of PIGGY PELOSI. To think a fellow female could be such a worthless piece of crap.
She has used her office for years to help her husband make multi-millions, we should have known better, and she should be voted out of office.
In fact, we ought to completely clean house and re-elect to congress only those backing NO SHAMNESTY, low taxes, a prepared military, return government to the states/people, PUT THE ARMY ON THE SOUTHERN BORDER, build a fence like the great wall of China (complete with dogs and border guards patrolling the top, and a moat the full length stocked with alligators).
