Last night we released Foxmarks 2.0.47.4 to the Mozilla Add-ons site. This is a minor upgrade that focuses primarily on smoothing out the process for people upgrading from Firefox 2 to Firefox 3, which we expect many people will be doing today. Go Firefox 3!
Foxmarks 2.0.47.4 released to AMO
Comments
Cannot upgrade to 2.0.47.4 since I keep getting:
Firefox could not install the file at
because: Unexpected installation error
Review the Error Console log for more details.
-203
Any ideas as to what I am supposed to do now?
Cheers, Zeanne

@Zeanne:
It seems like Mozilla is dealing with today’s swarm of Firefox 3 downloads and the Add-ons site is getting caught in the cross-fire. If you want to download directly from us, you can do so here.

There must be a REAL big swarm because I can’t get the Firefox 3 download to even start. T__T

Well - all went well for me… Expect a HUGE increase in client base as FF3 is not supported by Google browser sync.
30 seconds to d/l install and sync across 3 machines including a mac and win XP - thanks team

Hello Todd,
I tried to download from the link you sent and the download worked fine as before but the install fails with
Firefox could not install the file at
http://jezebel.foxmarks.com/foxmarks-2.0.47.4.xpi
because: Unexpected installation error
Review the Error Console log for more details.
-203
which is basically the same error as before.
Any more ideas?

[Ed. note]: This comment is factually incorrect and potentially misleading. Please see our response below.
FTP is not working any more with this version.
Foxmarks 1.0.1 worked perfect with my own server,
version 2.0.47.4 sucks

@cdm9002:
Please see this faq entry.
The problem is caused by an incompatibility with the Tor Button extension. Until the problem is resolved, you’ll have to disable Tor Button if you want to continue using Foxmarks.

Can confirm this - after disabling Tor Button it works fine, reenabling Tor makes Foxmarks stop syncing. Thanks for the hint !

it’s probably a mistake to incite people to download something the first day… instead of 1 MIO problems we now have 8 MIO
)
my upgrade to 47 doesn’t work and I’m not able to deinstall v2.0.46.9.
it tells me to restart firefox to uninstall, but if I do that “to complete my changes” my changes are actually not completed.
oh well, no big deal, I’m sure this gets fixes asap.
fast browser, I like!

This was the same error me too

it must be incompatibility with something else too because I don’t use Tor Button

problem solved after deinstalling Firefox and clean install Firefox 3. I had “Chinese Perapera-kun: Chinese Popup Translator” installed… on their website it says “This add-on is for older versions of Firefox” … might this have caused the problem?

@Todd,
thank you for pointing me to the WIKI. This did the trick.
Now I’m a happy foxmarks-user with Firefox 3

Bei mir hat Firefox 3.0 und Foxmarks nicht funktioniert.
Danke für den Hinweis mit dem Deaktivieren vom Tor Button!
Since I installed Firefox 3.0, Foxmarks didn’t work anymore. I couldn’t synchronize my Bookmarks. Thank’s for the hint, to deactivate the Tor Button! Now it works again.

Hi there,
Can you please tell me if favicon sync is supported on my.foxmarks.com? I only see generic icons using Firefox 3 has this option been disabled?

Had the tor button bug here too. Please fix it, it took me a few days to figure it out.
