FireStats Installer

I just closed the oldest enhancement request, which was a request for self-update mechanism for FireStats.
FireStats is pretty big, and it takes a long time for users to upload to their server.

FireStats installer comes to the rescue by downloading the latest version on the server, extracting it, and verifying that it was extracted correctly.

Try it out, it’s cool! :)

WOW!!!

Now that’s impressive…

I was able to install FireStats in less than a minute on a site that I did not even need to open my FTP engine for…

Top form Omry!

Glad you like it Mark :)

However, it does not create the fs_session folder that is needed on our server, so I still need to fire-up the FTP and get in there and create the necessary folder…

It does save a bunch of time and a load of hassle though, so I shouldn’t complain… :p

Nice blugin, but i had to CHMOD all old files before upgrading, which is a pain in the ass

it is indeed a pain in the ass, but you should have used a tool which allow changing file permissions recursively.

Any WPMU compatible versions of this plugin headed our way anytime soon? I’d love to be able to automate upgrades of the most popular statistics software on our site.

Also, are there updated versions of popular posts and statistics widgets for wpmu? My users see stats in their backend but their widgets are showing up with zero data.
