DIY: Soap Mouse

For two years I've been struggling with the problem of using my laptop, on the couch, and wanting a solid mouse like interface. Yeah, sure my Gateway has a nice touchpad - but the thing is starting to smooth out and I'd like to cut down the extra wear and tear.

The problem, of course, is that there's not a good wireless mouse that can be used while you're sitting on the couch. Where do you put the mousepad?

I'd seen some "gyro" style mice but none that were cheap enough to justify the expense.

All of a sudden I found this great article on MAKE:blog. OK - so it points to another article titled A New Type of PC Mouse but it's still pretty sweet. If you watch the video there's a great How To at the end.

Looks like I found my weekend project!
