So, many of you have heard of a blog carnival...many of you I'm sure haven't. Well, I think this is something to get excited about, so in any case...read on!

What it is... A blog carnival is a way for many blogs to get exposure at once. One blog, the host, compiles a list of blog entries from anyone who is interested in submitting one. Once the deadline for submission expires, the host blogger takes all the links and makes them into one big long post for everyone to read! For an example of a blog carnival with a medical twist, check out "Grand Rounds" over at Doctor Anonymous.

What's different about this carnival... This carnival will be exclusively for those of you who have joined the Bestest Blog Link Exchange.

How to submit an entry... I've created a nice and easy form to fill out to submit your entries. Click here if you're ready to go submit!

The rules... One entry per blogger per carnival. All entries should be family friendly. Again, any blog wishing to participate must have already participated in my link exchange here.

What else... The carnival will not be hosted here every week. As such, I am looking for bloggers who may be interested in hosting a future edition of the carnival. It is a great way to gain exposure for your site, as everyone will be stopping by to read, and many new links will pop up pointing bloggers over to your site. But, it is also a decent amount of work compiling all the links into a readable post. Currently, I am only offering Premium Blogs the opportunity to host. If you think you might be interested, email me at "BobbyGriffin@gmail.com"

Any other questions?... Leave a comment here, I'll be happy to answer them!

Not that I'm volunteering (been there and done that), but if you're a good blog carnival host, you can expect traffic to your site to enormously increase. Want to see proof of this, just check out when Doctor Anonymous (me), hosted Grand Rounds (a medical blog carnival).

But, as Bobby always says, it's his job to direct people to your site. But, when they get there, it's your job to keep them there. So, if you volunteer to host, take advantage of it, but the opportunity may not come again for a while. Hosting the Bestest Blog Carnival will be the hottest ticket in the blogosphere - especially if you only have a few hits a day. Good luck everybody!

Family Friendly? Oops. I'm out :-)

I have one little, teensy question: Are the submissions supposed to be our own blog posts or a post that we liked from somebody else's blog?

Ok, I lied. One more question: Are bowel movement references considered family friendly? I believe it's physically impossible for me to get through a single day without referencing my bowels at least once.

This blog totally confused me. Especially the music. FUNKY.

At 7:31 PM, Blogger Bobby Griffin said…

Matt: It should be posts from your own blog...preferably in most cases written (at least mostly) by you. Bowel movements are pushing it, but I guess so long as you don't use the word sh*t or anything vulgar like that it'd be ok.

It would be nice if there was a theme or topic (maybe next time).

At 8:31 PM, Blogger Bobby Griffin said…

Yeah, in the future I plan on having some themes...at least some very general ones like "funny."

But, to get the ball rolling, I just wanted to accept everyone who wanted in!

Hmmm...define "family friendly"...

At 9:16 PM, Blogger Bobby Griffin said…

Hmm...no swear words...no graphic images...no graphic description of sex, violence, racism, etc.

Basically, nothing you write Woozie! Haha, just kidding...I bet you can find something...

Bowel movement references? Like a bad word or the actual act of pooping?

*sigh* I am not family friendly. I mean I am not Debbie Does Dallas ala a blog, but I am not sure I have anything without a word or two:P

You say to send the post URL along with the post title to your e-mail. What if the participant is someone that doesn't title his/her posts? Would the Month/Date/Year be an acceptable title?

Thanks, Bobby, I have been getting some hits, directly from your site.

To be honest, if it were not for folks like you, the Bloggers’ world would be a lonely place indeed

I looked up meme in the dictionary and still don't know what the theme is. Would you give an example? Thanks. Also, I just submitted my blog link on Friday so I hope it is ok to get involved in the carnival.
