Who Needs Monuments?

We’ve got beer, we don’t need no stinkin monuments!
The Washington DC Beer Map is finally up and functioning (although I’m sure there are errors and spots that can be added).? I took the time and added the Baltimore Maryland area as well as some of Northern Virginia to this map too, so check them [...]

The LA Area has beer!

We’ve mapped out LA and the surrounding areas in the Los Angeles Beer Map. Please check it out and update me on corrections and additional locations. This map has not really been screened by a local yet, so I expect a few errors that I’ll need to correct.
And now, since I have the [...]

Seattle has been Beer Mapped

We just finished creating the Seattle Beer Map.
With 26 mapped beer stores, 9 breweries, 17 brewpubs and 78 beer bars mapped in the greater Seattle area, I think we can chalk it up as another great beer destination city. We’ve removed Seattle from our upcoming list and added a few more cities that many of [...]

100 Bottles of Email on the Wall

I think I received somewhere in the range of 150 to 200 emails yesterday due to the increased traffic from the All Things Considered article and interview based on using the Google Maps API to build interesting online tools. I did my best to respond to as many as possible.
If I didn’t respond to [...]

Is Your Radio On?

The rumor is, beermapping.com is going to be mentioned on NPR’s All Things Considered this afternoon. Whether this is true or not, I don’t know. But I have been glancing around for the cast and crew of Punk’d today.
If you are from the radio, welcome to beermapping.com! I hope you find a new brewery [...]

Which Road to the Beer?

“Driving Directions” functionality has been added to the US Brewery Maps. So far there is only one real bug popping up after implementing the driving directions and it is sort of a biggie. If a user selects a brewery/brewpub with an apostrophe in their name, an error will occur after linking to google for the [...]

Brewery/Brewpub Regional Maps Are Ready

Check out the US Brewery Maps page. The big map was broken down into six sections. The regions are initially based on timezones. Eastern and Central had too many breweries/brewpubs in their region, so these two regions were further split into North and South regions. Alaska and Hawaii were included in the Pacific Region.
Here are [...]

As a little side project, I’ve been working on a beer based rss aggregator. lilina news aggregator is an open source php aggregator based on the open source rss parser Magpie RSS. What does all this mean? Well, I’m not totally sure, but you can view what I’ve created with these fine tools by [...]
