Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’s Baccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccck
After a one week vacation, Todd came back to the Lakeland Revival Friday Night. The way the official e-mail read, it was like a long sabbatical. But one week!!!! Therefore, the press release is deceptive. One week is defined as ‘vacation and rest’. “some time off to refresh and to rest from the Florida Outpouring after nearly one hundred days of ministry. The Lakeland meetings will continue and Todd will remain the leader of this move of God” is defined as sabbatical. Therefore, the official e-mail was deceptive in that regard.
However, it was announced as of August 23rd, Todd will no longer be in Lakeland every night. His plans seem to be geared towards traveling, spreading, and imparting the glory and the anointing throughout America and the world. In fact, Stephen Strader’s July 19, 2008 e-mail states that he wants to
encourage everyone who can to get into as many of these final services in the TENT!
Sounds like the tent is coming down.

Tullian Tchividjian, grandson of Billy and Ruth Graham and pastor of New City Church in Margate, Fla. has been bold to come out and say ““I have no problem going on record and saying this guy is a false prophet … with a capital ‘F,’” — Good for you Tullian!!!!! You make your family and Billy proud of you.
Soli Dei Gloria reported on the now famous Rodney Howard Browne prophecy that came forth at Lakeland.
Wolf Tracks, church warnings, The Lakeland Quotes Blog, Deception Bytes, The Revivalschool.com forums, Sola Dei Gloria, Living In The Way, Miriam, Herescope, The Grey Coats, whatsup?, and Theology Today still defend the faith.
I am now seeing more and more at “pro-Lakeland Revival” forums is the deeming of those who disagree with the Florida Outpouring as “hate-filled”. Sounds like they are using Clintonistism tactics that they denounced in the 1990’s.

Hank Hhaanneeggrraaff (actually “Hanegraaff”) talks Todd Bentley (Do you think Hanegraaff looks like David Letterman?).

This blog post has a comment by Robert Ricciardelli (within the block discussing comment #6) where he reveals that
Truth is there are very few people being healed in LAkeland. I have worked with Charisma Magazine editor Lee Grady in discovering how many flase reports have been released as facts. These are our brtohers and sister invovled in this, but this move of God has been a move of men with God still touching some who come to seek Him…

Robert Ricciardelli has also commented at this blog in comment #6
We have investigated the 20 plus “raised from the dead” claims as we want to report them to the media, and they cannot be verified, but were only called in, or sent in from an email. This is not repsonsible reporting, and leaves many questions, which also adds to the claims of hype and embellishment.

Thanks for the link to my blog.

This morning at Mass, it hit me about how this whole Lakeland thing resembles Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan (and not in the way you think).
LaVey was a carny and con man who with his CoS latched onto a con that sucked in a lot of the Beautiful People. Only two kinds of people took this ex-carny at face value: His True Believer followers/marks, and Born-Again Christians (Spiritual Warfare subtype). Both believed that LaVey was 100% genuine.
Like LaVey, I see two kinds of people taking Tatted Todd & Angel Emma at face value: True Believers in The Florida Outpouring and Demon-hunters/Witchfinders-General. As with LaVey, both these types believe he’s 100% genuine; the first that Tatted Todd is speaking directly for (and from) God, the second “proving” through all their proof-text-sprinked blogs that It’s All Done By Demons.
The third alternative — that, like LaVey, this is all bogus — does not seem to enter into anyone’s head. (My writing partner — a burned-out rural pastor with stage magic experience — screened your Lakeland video excerpts and described Todd as using known stage-mentalist tactics with the addition of whipping the crowd into an emotional frenzy. His opinion is not God, not Demons, but Con Man.)
thanks for all the info. really enjoy your site. it is quite informative.
Clearly this move got off balanced for there will always be a mixture of the flesh and the spirit; the wheat among the tares; the wise mingled with the foolish and the simple pride of man. There was too much laughter and not enough intercession. Without order, reverence and sound Biblical doctrine demons will swoon upon even a legitimate move of God with delusion, confusion and fanaticism. For a great read check out “A Step Into Deliverance” by T. Pugh. It is a riveting autobiography about one pastor’s journey into the deliverance ministry. A real-page turner!!
