Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Just the other night, my sister noticed Gigi (my beloved pet pug) playing with an angpow packet (the red packet where money is placed in to be given away to kids by married people for blessings during the Chinese New Year). So we took out the trusty Oly digital camera and started snapping away…

She really looked like a small lion dance fooling around with the red packet. But then again, who am I kidding? Gigi’s so fat and lazy that she sometimes wouldn’t even bother jumping around for treats… hehe, here you go, enjoy the pix smiley

Gigi Dance 1
Muahahaha, I snatched Yvonne’s angpow! Hope it’s got RM 100 inside, can get myself a lot of dog treats! smiley

Gigi Dance 2
Hmmm, no fun! Yvonne’s not trying to snatch the angpow away from me. Darn, I bet this angpow is actually empty!

Gigi Dance 3
Okay, I’m bored now… this is not as fun as I thought it would’ve been smiley

Gigi Dance 4
Did I smell food? *sniff sniff*

Gigi Dance 5
Hey! It’s an orange, a mandarin orange! Sweet!

Gigi Dance 6
Erm, anyone there? I need help peeling this orange here… hello smiley

That’s all folks… hope you guys have a prosperous and joyful new year ahead… smiley

Last night, to usher in the year 2005, I invited some friends over to my house for a simple steamboat dinner. There were abundance of food and booze to last the whole night (and leftovers for the next two days to come, for sure! smiley ). Luckily I had planned this simple event earlier, as most of the celebrations out there were cancelled as a respect to the recent tsunami disaster.

Penton drove both Andi Wu and Cheok Yeen over to my place by 8pm and we promptly got dinner started. Had countless rounds over the course of the night, and we ate so much, it’ll make any buffet proprietor shriek in horror at the sight of us eating! smiley

Not gonna blog much further, nice weather today to sleep in… so here’s the group photo taken last night:

… and I want one!!! Managed to catch a glimpse of the upcoming SE K700i and S700i at the Sony Ericsson booth in CommunicAsia 2004…

The SE K700i features a VGA (640×480) camera, it’s like a successor to T610

The SE S700i features a 1.3megapixel camera, rotating body (a la Motorola), Memory Stick Duo for extra storage space and much more… *drool*

Touched down in Spore late afternoon on Sunday, and you guys already knew about the BBQ that evening, so here’s the pix on the abalone (I didn’t bring my camera that day, so pix are courtesy of Colin):

… that I digged from my hard drive was just posted into my Photo Gallery.

This time, it’s the first KVPUG Wine & Dine dinner event… can’t remember which date liao, perhaps mid of 2001. Well, KVPUG, or Klang Valley Palm User Group was the user group I was in back then when I started out using Palm PDA (with a Palm Vx… w00t! smiley ) - I was the Review Editor back then…

Anyway, we had this Wine & Dine dinner thingy and the first one was held in Chilli Bombay restaurant at Sri Hartamas, KL… this restaurant is now closed or moved or whatever.. no longer at the location liao…

The food was good, and mixing Indian food with wine was rather, an experiment. But it went down well… except it’s better to go down with a lassi (a yoghurt fruit drink) instead.

Anyway, just enjoy the pix - HERE

Went to PWTC for KLIMS 2003 again, this time with Cheok Yeen. Since I missed out most of the Chevy shots, decided to take them this time around…

This 2nd part is mostly pix of the girls there since I was done with the car pix the first time around (except for the Chevy’s).

Went to the KLIMS 2003 in Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) today with ET, Jasmine and Ehlant after class at 2pm…

Stopped by Low Yat Plaza for sushi lunch prior to heading down to the expo centre… students with an ID can go in for only RM 5! And they don’t check thoroughly, if you got an old one, go dust it off and you’ll probably get thru smiley

Okay… pics will tell you about the event… no need for me to struggle with words here… click the link below to get there:

Damn, I’m so bored at home! And the weather of late isn’t helping either… few days back it rained like there’s no tomorrow and now it’s scorching hot!!!

These kinda weather not condusive for any productivity at all! smiley
So I wandered to the kitchen to see if there’s something to munch when I saw Gigi sitting there waiting for my mom to cook Fried Loh Shee Fun (a type of noodle that sorta resembles a rat’s tail)… you can see her food bowl is there waiting smiley

Woopsie, she just saw me snapping pics of her smiley

Well, I guess she’s just as bored as me… smiley

I’m planning to get some lens filters, especially a UV one to protect the body lens. I understand I’ll need a tube adaptor as my camera doesn’t have any threads to screw on additional lenses.

Furthermore, I’ll be getting (hopefully) a polarizer filter to enhance my phototaking experience. So the following is what I need:

- 45.6mm to 52mm lens tube adaptor
- 52mm UV filter (looking at the one from Hoya)
- 52mm polarizer filter (don’t think I can afford the Hoya one - any recommendation?)

Anyone can suggest where I can find these locally in the Klang Valley? I found an online shop specializing in these lenses @ The Filter Connection that ships internationally. But of coz, it’ll be easier if I can get these stuff locally, so anyone knows? TV Smith?
