Projekt30 is taking submissions for our new February 2009 publicly juried exhibition. We are an artist-run arts organization dedicated to promoting emerging artists. The exhibition will include thirty artists; invitations will be sent to over 30,000 galleries, collectors, and fellow artists. Visitors have the option of contacting any participating artist with feedback or opportunities. As of Nov. 2008 over 200,000 messages have been sent to participating artists. All artwork submitted will be presented online prior to the exhibition so visitors may help select which artists will be included in the exhibition. CALL FOR IMMIGRATION THEMED ART - December 18 2008

Two artists will be commissioned to develop, in collaboration with museum staff and students from the Museum’s Shared Journeys ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) program, site-specific art installations. The installations should shed light on the connections between immigrant experiences past and present, illuminating the parallels the Shared Journeys students see between the lives of the residents of 97 Orchard Street at their own experiences as new immigrants. INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR ARTIST PROPOSALS - December 15, 2008

Artists and groups of all cultural fields are invited to submit proposals for works/actions for Factory, an international exhibition taking place in two venues from May 2009. Factory exhibition focuses on production processes and their outcome in the framework of the art field, as well as on the social-economic structures that govern the contemporary world. The exhibition's theme is inspired by Andy Warhol's famous studio, which carried diverse functions during the 60s – a gathering place for the New York bohemia, a site in which both superstars and marginal characters dwelled, a place that shaped the public and artistic persona of Warhol and his companions while functioning as an artist's studio in the full sense of the word, stimulating artistic production in various media. Factory exhibition foregrounds the critical tension that resides in production processes of different art practices (video, sound, installation, performance, painting, photography etc.), between the live event, concrete artifacts and their display and consumption. We seek to induce the same tension in the friction and echoing formed between the exhibition's two venues, as the artistic activity in each of the sites will be shaped according to the unique characteristics of each space. PLEIN AIR COMPETITION - March 6, 2009

To enter this juried competition, artists must submit three digital images of their original plein air work completed in the past two years, along with a fee of $35. ACADEMIC AND ARTISTIC FELLOWSHIPS - January 12, 2009

Seeking applications from composers, writers, and visual artists pursuing specific projects and from scholars pursuing studies in the humanities and social sciences relating to French and francophone cultures. The interdisciplinary residency program is intended to give fellows the time and space they need to realise their projects. The Foundation's hillside campus overlooks the Mediterranean Sea in Cassis, France; it includes thirteen furnished apartments, a reference library, and three art/music studios. Fellows are provided with accommodation on campus. A stipend of $2,500 is also available. Residencies are one semester (either early-September to mid-December or mid-January to the end of May). FUNDED SCULPTURE RESIDENCY - December 1, 2008

Emerging, midcareer & established artists are invited to apply for a workstay residency in Upstate New York between September 2009 and August 2010. No fee to apply. Twenty artists will be selected for two-month funded residencies: a $2,000 stipend helps with residency expenses. NYS artists also receive a $100 transportation stipend and free housing. No more than 4-5 artists work at any one time, for optimal workspace. The Artist Review Committee, with one rotating Guest Panelist, meets in January 2009, and notifies artists in March of the panel's decision. Primary criteria are quality, originality and potential for growth.
