Forbes is reporting that this new QA center will create 20 full-time positions and roughly 200 part-jobs for students interested in testing EA's various games (though the center will initially be focused on the EA Sports titles). Exactly how much these jobs are going to pay isn't known, but the press release from EA states that the facility is expected to have a $5.7 million annual payroll within two years.
The decision to set up shop in Louisiana actually stems from the enormous financial benefits currently in place to encourage animation, special effects and video game companies to bring their business to the state. The testing center will actually be located on LSU's campus, with $500,000 in improvements being made by both the state and the city of Baton Rouge. Louisiana also features some extreme tax credits for companies like EA; it's expected that incentives will total over $14 million in the next ten years.
