-Atheists Sue over U.S. National Day of Prayer

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

The Freedom From Religion Foundation filed a lawsuit Friday (10/3/08) in U.S. district court, over The National Day of Prayer.
The suit argues that the president’s yearly proclamations calling on and encouraging Americans to pray every year for the country on the first Thursday of May, violates a constitutional ban on endorsing religion.
Response: This is [...]

-Church of England to Apologize to Darwin?

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

In celebration of the 200 birthday of Charles Darwin, the Church of England plans to issue an apology for their initial reactions to his theories:
"200 years from your birth, the Church of England owes you an apology for misunderstanding you and, by getting our first reaction wrong, encouraging others to misunderstand you still. We [...]

-Recap: "Did the Gospel of Judas Show Mislead Millions?"

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Here is an article on the Baptist Press which lists a number of ways that the National Geographic distorted the truth in their portrayal of Judas as a ‘hero’ in the supposed "Gospel of Judas". Apparently, the translation which was done by their ‘dream team’ of experts was not entirely accurate.
  Also, the TV show [...]

While Muslims in the USA have felt increasingly isolated from mainstream America since 9/11, they have found one group, the Mormons, who have reached out with understanding and friendship according to a recent LA Times article.

Here’s a great article for Easter- “Did Jesus Really Rise from the Dead?” by William Lane Craig, professor of philosophy at Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, California.
He looks at the facts concerning the resurrection of Jesus–a timely pursuit for the Easter season:
“To answer the question of Jesus’ resurrection from a historical [...]

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

This is the now famous question that Gov. Mike Huckabee asked during an interview.
Read my article on why I think that Christians should stop making this claim against Mormonism -on the Apologetica blog.          *Top

-Dawkins the Atheist Sings Carols and Celebrates Christmas?

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

Christmas continues to be under assault in the public square in America and apparently in the UK also. However, Richard Dawkins the rather famous atheist says not to blame him, he is not one who’s trying to do away with Christmas traditions:
“I like singing carols along with everybody else. I’m not one of those who [...]

Poll: Atheists Less Likely to Treat Others Well

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

According to a recent poll taken in Canada, those who profess to believe in God are more likely to be concerned about others and actually treat other people better than those who are atheists.
Comments: Atheist authors like Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and Christopher Hitchens have been arguing lately that humanity would be better off [...]

Should Christians Use the Name ‘Allah’ For God?

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Recently a Catholic Bishop in the Netherlands supported the use of ‘Allah’ instead of God. I wrote about this prospect earlier on this blog and offered a link to the original article. I continue the discussion from a Christian perspective in my Apologetica section. Here is a link to the article.

Atheists Look at ‘Radical Christianity’ as a Threat?

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

A recent study by the Barna Group shows that atheists and agnostics consider ‘radical Christianity’ as just as great a threat as ‘radical Islam’.
Actually this probably is to be expected. If you have heard any of the famous atheists lately on radio or TV, or if you have browsed through or read any of the [...]
