Life Group & Lasagna!

Life Group was great last night. How could it be anything other than great with Lasagna and Key Lime cake! We enjoyed sitting around getting to know each other a little better and just having fun.

Thanks Polly for the yummy Key Lime cake!

I was so looking forward to Life Groups beginning–adults! Since we have moved here, I have been very busy with Kelly in our Kids Life areas of ministry–which I love dearly and would have no other way. Soon we will have Kids Life & 2 services running so smoothly that I will be able to help in one service and attend BIG CHURCH in the other! Adults! Back to Life Group. Looking forward to adults, friends, Bible study, Paul leading Life Group (he does adults, I do kids). Of course, that did not work out the way I was expecting. He got very sick last week and was not able to join us during Life Group–as much as I missed him being there with us, it must have gone OK because everyone came back last night and even 2 more! Of course, like I said, we had lasagna & key lime cake!

I was not expecting Paul to be with us for this Life Group because he was supposed to be in Alaska. But he is still sick! He started out with a double ear infection and now has pneumonia! Pray for him. He is taking his medicine and is now starting to finally feel a little better. If I can just get him to rest enough to get well it will be a miracle! And he will be with us next week in Life Group! I love to here my husband expound on the Word of God–he is very gifted and I am very blessed.

Kids Life Rocks!

I love Kid’s Life at Life Pointe Church! Not only do we have a great group of kids that God has purposefully placed here, we have incredible teachers, leaders, volunteers – you name ‘em!

Every week we are either meeting new people with very special God-given talents to minister to children or discovering those same talents in people we already know. And wow! Are our children being blessed and ministered to!

Lisa Riley and her daughter helped in our 2 year old class for the first time this past Sunday and they were awesome!  A true blessing.  They were able to minister to a child that I was not able to.  He was extreamly upset and unsettled, but MS. Lisa had the perfect touch, or spirit should I say, to meet his need.  Not only was this child ministered to through a loving spirit, but his parents as well.

3’s and 4 ’s jamed for Jesus as they danced all over the place and learned some sign language to a song about Creation!  By the time we finish our section on Creation, the 3 & 4 year olds will be able to tell you the Creation story day-by-day!  What awesome stuff to put into the hearts of our children.  These teachers rock!–they have to, to keep up!

The Ten Commandments!  More incredible stuff from the Word of God to pour into our older Kids.  And oh what fun the kids and the teachers are having!  Go Kid-Mo!  Like I said, Kids Life Rocks!  (I know, too many exclamation points used — that’s just how excited I am about Kids and God!)

God is at work in a very powerful way in our Kid’s Life ministries!

Chasing Daylight

Chasing Daylight. Is it an awesome Life Group study or every day life? Yes. It is not only the awesome Bible study that we are doing in our life group, but also the story of my life! I feel like my life goes round and round…from daylight to daylight.

We talked in our life group about our lives being mundane. I don’t think my life is mundane, mainly because I am SO busy. However, the statement was made, “Right behind the mundane is the miraculous .” While I don’t think my life is mundane, I’m not so sure about the miraculous either. What I am sure of, is that I most certainly want something in my life to be miraculous. Not in the future, not in a few years, not even soon. But right now, today, this week, and the next, and the next, and the next… As much as I want God to use me to miraculously reach the world, my neighborhood, the children in Kids Life, anyone and everyone I meet, I am feeling a much stronger calling to be miraculous much closer to home. Actually AT home. To find the miraculous in being the best wife I can be and to find the miraculous in being the best mother I can be. And believe me, it does take to miraculous!  Maybe for me, I don’t need to look for the miaculous behind the mundane, but behind the busy.

Sunday Wrap-Up

WOW! Sunday was incredible! 2 classes back to back; 2 year olds who are crying to be in our class; Puke (all over me and the floor); teachers with flat tires; what more could you ask for on your first 1st day of 2 services and a new class for 3 year olds & k4’s !! And yet it was still a great day. The children seemed to love their new class! And they all went home having heard how very much Jesus loves them, that Jesus will answer their prayers and that “God made our World.” It’s all about loving the children and their parents enough to take YOUR time and pour Jesus into these precious little ones hearts. Sometimes, all it takes is a smile and a hug. (And a strong gag reflex!)With starting our new 3’s & 4’s class and 2’s only class, and with going to 2 services, we have several ministry positions available in our Kids Life areas: Infants, 2 year olds, 3’s & K4, and K5 - 5th grade.Loving and ministering to children is such an incredible and fulfilling way to love and minister to God!But how can I do this? you may say. Let me give you some examples:

Changing a baby’s diaper while whispering a prayer for that baby blesses not only the baby, but the baby’s whole family.

Sitting on the floor, playing blocks with a 2 year old while smiling and saying “did you know Jesus loves you?” “Can you say Jesus?” The name of Jesus is very powerful!

Singing and dancing with a group of 3 & 4 year olds before you sit down to tell them a Bible story, that surprisingly enough, they WILL remember! And a t the right time, God will bring the understanding.

And last but certainly not least, playing cup stacks with the older kids before you begin your “Kid Mo” lesson, and for that one hour, that one service, you’ve had a chance to put something into the heart of a child that will not return void! (according to the word of God) And may be the thing that changes that child’s life forever, or maybe just for that moment, but none the less, they have been touched, not by you, but by God Himself!

WOW! Sign me up again. I’ve just inspired myself! Can I work in ALL the age groups!

No, unfortunately I can’t. And that ‘s my point. It takes all of us taking our turn, spending our time, in the Kids Life areas of ministry.

Don’t worry, all of my blogs will not be a recruiting session…maybe.

One last thing, just want to say a big thank you and may God richly bless you, to all those who helped in our Kids Life groups this past Sunday during both services! You are awesome! A special thank you to Polly Zinn and her family who, at the last minute, came in to help with 2 year olds, and did an excellent job! God is smiling.

Tip for the day:

Bless someone else today. Maybe someone you don’t even know or someone who is not your best friend! It’s amazing how good it will make you feel.

Loving our children always,

Ms. Annie
