People Don’t Want Free Money
People don’t want free money. Don’t believe me? Watch this video. Someone gives away free money on the street but nobody takes it.
It’s supposed to be a comedy but there are two lessons here. What is it?
Mindset
People perceive and subconsciously believe that money is hard to get. They have the wrong mindset. They have to correct their mindset if they want to be rich. Remember The Secret and Law of Attraction? You attract what you believe.
Here’s a visualization tool to help you correct your mindset.
Free is not always good marketing
Pricing your products or services too low may hurt their credibility and perceive value.
Do you have other examples that people don’t want free money? ![]()

Unfortunately I can’t remeber the exact reference but I remember someone (it was a popular coach, motivational person, or someone like that) that pulled out a $100 bill in front of his audience and asked who would give him $2 (or some low amunt as that) for his $100. No one responded. After coaxing them for a minute or two finally someone bit and he bid it up to somewhere around $90.
It’s amazing that we are so conditioned to think that there is something behind it and making it too much effort or not worth the value. How many opportunities have each of us missed because of this paradigm?

Hey Big Sky, if I’m not mistaken, it must have been one of the Rich Dad Poor Dad workshops. I actually like going to those similar seminars for sometimes I get free money from the coaches. And off course the great knowledge
We definitely must really reprogram our subconscious mind. Visualization is one of the easy way.

Do they really have the wrong mindset? Isn’t it sad but true, that most of the time you are beeing offered something for free, there is something behind, and you should watch out not be tricked?

Hey I think that money is never accepted for free, however, if you make that experiment on a 3rd world country people will accept it, well who knows?, now I remember, there was a show somewhere in latinamerica in which a person placed a sign saying help me with a coin for my next vacation and a box for the people to drop in coins and guess what happpened people would drop in coins. I think the mindset we have on helping others and accepting things is very odd.

I hope it is true, And not all the times. It depends upon the way of thinking and I hope there will be very less number of people, who don’t accept free money.

When you see someone giving money for free may be we will consider him mad. Because in this case a very impossible to give someone money without a goal.

That’s pretty funny that no one would take the free money. I guess we’ve just sort of been conditioned to think that you can’t get something for nothing!

Hello, that video was amazing… I have never seen so many people turn down some free money. I live in Chicago and if someone did that around here, that guy would have no money by the end of the day.

Man! That is amazing.. if someone tried handing free money to me I’d take it in a heart beat. One of the few times I’ve been given free money was in junior high when a kid gave me a $5 laughing when he couldn’t use it in the vending machine. I was like “YEAAA BABY” then i realized it was counterfeit.. blah. I sold it to a classmate for $2 and he said he’d use it in the lunch line and they’d never notice.
Well they didn’t notice but later made an announcement and like 10 people tattled on him.. I think the FBI showed up to investigate.
Free money always seems to have a catch! Great article.
