Scientists Against Global Warming

Here is a great open letter to the PM of Canada regarding re-evaluating the science behind "climate crisis" in light of the call to review the Kyoto treaty. The article is stating the obvious, and repeated, points made by many who find global warming a scam. What is interesting is the list of professionals that signed it. For all those who say that there is a scientific consensus, this list would be one example to prove them wrong. Check it out.

Re-airing Ronald Reagan

From the WSJ: (I can't wait)

"It's been two decades since Ronald Reagan left office and so many young people under 30 have little or no understanding of him or what he represented.

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation hopes to remedy that by producing a series of two-minute radio retrospectives featuring excerpts from the over 1,000 commentaries Reagan did in the 1970s between his years as governor and president. Those radio commentaries, published in annotated form recently, have played no small role in forcing even liberals to have a second look and give the Gipper his due as a thinker and writer. Additional broadcasts will use portions of Reagan's Saturday radio addresses as president.

Harry O'Connor, the original producer of what was called "Reagan Radio," is working with the Foundation to produce the commentaries. Peter Hannaford, who wrote some of the commentaries that Reagan himself did not pen, will provide an introduction to each segment. Each one, while non-partisan in nature, will address an issue such as taxes, terrorism, abortion and the economy and in Mr. O'Connor's words "establish the connection between the classic radio addresses and contemporary issues." -- John Fund

Mah-Jongg with Popo

[image] This weekend I went down to visit my friends in Stockton and to play a few rounds of Mah-Jongg with Popo, the almost-99 year old woman I've written about previously. It is such an interesting experience playing a very complicated game from another culture with a woman who speaks no English and me speaking no Chinese. But we get along rather well. Grace translates for the most part (limited by her own basic understanding of the game). And then we seem to find a rhythm between Popo's pointing and facial expressions in response to our hovering and shifting hands (kinda like her saying "warmer, warmer, colder, cold" or "no, don't touch that tile, leave that alone!" ...you get the idea).

Well, I found a wonderful book at World Market that explained the history, game pieces, and rules IN ENGLISH, which I purchased and brought with me. I used it primarily as a key to read the tiles. The game pieces are like dominoes, but the strategy is closer to the card game Gin Rummy. I'm hoping to read a little more and next time actually be able to enjoy the fast pace and competition of the game. But regardless of my comprehension and strategy (or lack thereof), it was a fun afternoon and a great visit. I hear you can even play this online, if you're interested. However you might be exposed to it, I am certain it cannot compare with my experience. Thanks Popo!

Happy Mother's Day

I know this has been around for a while, but it's still priceless. Enjoy!

A Brief History Review for Obama

Here's a great post on HA to help explain 20th century history to Obama. HOPEfully it will help him CHANGE his policy of negotiating with terrorists, something every DEMOCRAT president has held as official policy (except Carter, but including Kennedy - whom they say Obama reflects).

Disappearing Car Doors

I want one of these!

"Real Men"

Here is an amazing article titled "Why women are to blame for killing off real men." It is very insightful, although lamentable. Recognizing they're to blame doesn't help the situation now. We may have lost a generation of men/boys to this psychic castration. But there is some sense of being relieved that someone has noticed. Now on with the solution.

Can we let the boys play tag or dodgeball at recess now? Let's start with those "dragons".

Obama's Slash and Burn Politics

Here's a great video to show how much of a politician Obama is. It's particularly fitting to hear his summary statement after the McCain segment. Talk about slash and burn.
