FOR TODAY, MONDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2008
Outside my window...the remains of a snow storm last night. I thank God we didn't get as much as I thought we might.
I am thinking...about my daughter in Texas coming home on December 14 for two weeks for Christmas vacation - yay!
From the learning room...will come schoolwork, particulary Algebra II.
I am thankful for...a safe trip to the Bible Quiz event Nov. 19-23. We had great driving weather the majority of the time (some rain once and some snow one morning, but we drove out of both). The kids had a great time. God is good! Thank you to everyone who prayed for our trip!
From the kitchen...will come macaroni and cheese with hot dogs. That's all I know for now!
I am wearing...a gray tank top and my pink p.j. bottoms that are covered in drawings of kitties! (We do have two cats, after all!)
I am creating...a housework plan to get everything ready for our youngest daughter's birthday party later in the month.
I am going...to get my voice back this week. Hopefully.
I am hoping...that we get a lot of decluttering done in the next two weeks.
I am hearing...myself typing on the desktop computer and cars driving by on the wet road.
Around the house...there are dishes to wash and stuff to pick up and put away - still. (How come this answer is the same every week?)
One of my favorite things...is comfy p.j.s.
I've been thinking about...how relieved I am that I finished my 2008 NaNoWriMo novel. Here's my post about that. I had stopped part way through because, even though I'd outlined the novel, I got stuck at a certain spot and couldn't seem to get past that, so I figured I'd have to stop writing. I had 23,253 words at that point on Nov. 17. Then came the trip out of state and being sick with bronchitis when I got home. Then, on the evening of Thanksgiving Day, I thought that, since this was my fifth NaNo novel, I'd like to 'win.' So I got out my outline, figured out how many chapters I had left to write, and worked backwards through my outline to have certain things to include in those chapters. The idea worked very well, and in four days (Nov. 27-30), I wrote the remaining 27,595 words (an average of 7,000 words per day). I praise God that He helped me finish this NaNo. After five of them, I'm thinking about the possibility of not participating anymore; I'm satisfied with my five 'wins.'
A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week: my daughter's Monday night prayer group; our homeschool group's monthly moms' meeting; two Bible Quiz practices; our church's Women's Ministry team meeting; a Bible Quiz meet on Saturday at a church in town; our homeschool group's moms' Christmas party with an ornament exchange.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing...
I finished my NaNo novel!(sorry, I don't know where I found the Snoopy)
