Lectures
Audio and PDF Lecture: Bible and Theology Departmental Lectureship, September 26, 2002, "The Calcutta Revival of 1907 and the Reformulation of Charles F. Parham's ‘Bible Evidence’ Doctrine," 2:30 p.m. in the chapel. The earliest Pentecostals believed that God bestowed unlearned languages on the Spirit-baptized for missionary evangelism. This paper examines events in Calcutta that led Pentecostals to revise their understanding of the function of tongues and view the experience as prayer in the Spirit. This event was open to the entire AGTS community. Read his lecture (PDF, Download Help). Hear his lecture. Photo of Carey Baptist Chapel, Calcutta, India.
