alright folks. i hate to do this, but i’m moving everything over to aaronivey.com.
i know it’s a MAJOR pain to update your RSS feeder and blogroll, but if you would change it over to the new address that would be great. check out all the new action at aaronivey.com. hope you like the new site.
go now!! aaronivey.com
i know you got a few… you’ll feel better… so go ahead…
2 days until new website… the new aaronivey.com launches on monday. (and the crowd roars)
heading to Bell Buckle, TN for a little family fun. it’s only about 20 miles from our house, and Jamie has been wanting to go for a while. guess we should do that before we move, huh? Bell Buckle is known for “its antiques, quilts, handmade crafts, country music, home cooking and Southern hospitality.” so, i will have my Souther hospitality radar on….and be the judge of it’s hospitable-ness. since it’s such a quaint town, i full except to see and meet the Mayor, Dennis Webb. It is a Saturday, which is a tourist day in Bell Buckle, so i had better see him waving a red, white, and blue banner that says, “welcome tourists!” if not, i will be severely let down.
so i took one of those online stress tests… you know the one… they calculate all the “major” things that are going on in your life (moving, selling a house, looking for a new house, new city & community, small children, etc) and give you a score. then, that score determines how “stressed” you are…
here’s my results:
DANGER ZONE!! Watch out!!! haha…. i’m under control, i promise…
new website coming in THREE DAYS!!
it came to a head last night. finally, jamie and i looked at each other and said, “what the heck is the deal with us? we have been grumpy, snappy, and just mean to each other for the past few days!” we’re usually very gracious to each other, but this week has not been a good one. i’ve been easily annoyed and quick to point out faults, etc. it’s sucked. seems the smallest things have irritated me.
i think this week of packing, cleaning, selling, buying, and transitioning has just made it all weird at home. we realized that since monday, we have not left the house. we haven’t done anything fun, we haven’t gone anywhere… just the 4 of us in a messy half-packed house. the kitchen counters haven’t been cleaned once, they are stacked dishes and glass waiting to be packed. the garage is stacked to the ceiling (almost) with boxes and things that are to be sold, etc. if you’ve moved, you know what i’m talking about! it’s a wreck.
poor kids haven’t had any FUN this week either! (they’ve been grumpy too). i think all of this + knowing how much more has to be done has taken a toll on jamie, me, and kids. so, we’re taking a little break tomorrow. we’re going to get everyone out of the house and find something fun to do. maybe drive out to Bell Buckle since we’ve never been. jamie has been wanting to go there for a while, so maybe we’ll check it out.
we’ve got 6 more days… lots to do… but we gotta stop the grumpiness!! i want my fun/happy family back!
i am watching big brother with jamie… she is forcing me… i am embarassed and full of shame.
