Reminiscing: Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

My first, no second job was working for Andy Frain, a so-called security company. They specialize in crowd control for concerts basically.

My first night on the job was to make sure the riff-raff didn't 'bother' the members of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band that was playing at the Convention Center (which is now known as the Louisville Gardens).

The toughest thing I had to endure that night was standing for three hours straight with out a break. No riff-raff to deal with all night. Nadda.

As the headline band wrapped things up and exited the stage, they had to pass by me, and I couldn't resist calling lead member Jeff Hanna over to say hello. I just had to say hello.

He thought that there was some sort of 'security' issue because of my attire.

I explained that I just wanted to shake hands.

Afterward, I felt embarrassed. He walked away.

I quit the next day.

Enjoy.

The web is the most trusted news medium (over TV and print combined), and Fox News is the most trusted TV news source, according to results from a new Zogby poll commissioned by the Independent Film Channel.

Fox ruled with 39.3 percent of those polled beating out CNN at 16 percent and MSNBC at 15 percent. Wired.com
Somehow I feel vindicated...

Kaitlyn

Nearly 1 ½ years after Kaitlyn Lasitter’s feet were severed on a ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, the amusement park has reached an out-of-court settlement with the teenager’s family, who sued the park for negligence.

Kaitlyn LassiterCarolyn McLean, a company spokeswoman, said today that the settlement was reached after 48 hours of negotiations this week. The suit had been set for trial in January 2010.

McLean said the settlement was confidential and the park would not discuss any of its details.
She deserves every damn penny and then some.

Google Calendar Pop-up

Ah, another nice add-on for Firefox...

It adds a small icon to your status bar enabling you to check or edit your GCal without having to surf to the gcal site.

It's still considered an experimental add-on but I've not encountered any 'bugs' as of yet.

GCal Popup

And as you can see I'm free for lunch all week.

His 'new' name is Mikaeel.

That probably won't help his record sales...
