Linux as a local machine
8 Dec 2011 4:08pm GMT I have tried a few times over the years to build a Linux system, I finally had success, and totally loved the Ubuntu system, but as a graphic designer, I could not use the Adobe suite. There is really just no equal in Linux. Gimp sucks, Bluefish is a little better, but Adobe is the master. Other than that though... I do use only Linux servers to serve my sites (and clients sites) like http://kellertreecare.info it runs smooth, and funny, it's actually less than a Windows server. I have a PC...

30 Jun 2009 10:47am GMT I've had trouble with games on some VMs (also they're painfully slow). And I'm a developer, so need to test stuff in lots of OSes :)
For me the only reason to do
30 Jun 2009 7:21am GMT For me the only reason to do that would be to play some games. And those can be run on some virtual machines so I don't really see why. Though I guess if you're developing something you might want to test it on every possible OS.
