11 Sep 2006 9:36am GMT Excellent idea. That maybe what JetlagJen called "subtle advocacy". Teachers and/or education administration may or may not be interested by the concept, and you may want to make some kind of demonstration of what FLOSS can do for classrooms. Edubuntu, anyone? ;)

11 Sep 2006 9:36am GMT Nice one, I suppose when you write something like this on an official suggestion form it might actually get somewhere, as opposed to general nagging which just seems to annoy people. One thing to mention, diving into linux straight away might just confuse the children and/or teachers. Maybe just start using some open source software, i.e. firefox and OOo?
