Balancing the scales
11 Jan 2010 1:31pm GMT Often when I feel down I play this game with the world: I look at the strangers on streets. I look them into their eyes. I smile. Then I notice how many smile back. I feel this helps to balance the scales. Having a funny hat helps, but do give it a shot even if you don't have one.

9 Aug 2008 7:20pm GMT Compared to most other such dialog boxes, this one, from Konqueror is a thing of beauty. I don't need to hesitate a moment when I see it. It assumes I know what I'm doing and has Quit as the default. It's just perfect.
Monospace yummies
12 Aug 2007 10:23am GMT I got tired of my previous monospace font and went looking for something that would work for coding and also for things like irc. After a long hunt I found ShareTech Mono, which is a light font with very good clarity. It looks really good. White Rabbit is similar but slightly less crisp. Unispace and ModeNine are good alternatives for those situations where you want to show the screen to someone else and need the extra visibility.
Small is beautiful
16 May 2007 7:50pm GMT Converticon shows that small is indeed beautiful. The point is further driven home by the fact that the size of the starting image affects the file size heavily, so if you want a tiny favicon, don't start with an image suited to become a poster.
Akregator does tagging!
7 May 2007 5:27am GMT Wow, I found out today (thanks to teprrr) that Akregator has a configuration option that allows tagging entries. This is exactly what I have been looking for as I have many different kind of articles marked as Important and this lets me tell reference materials from unread-but-interesting and fun from business.
